I like the idea of these types of mini PC's / NUC's but why doesn't AMD ever do this?

Give it time. Most of these manufacturers have special deals, discounts, and contracts with each other. It takes time for contracts to run out and to make sure supply and demand can be met. Ryzen has started really building a name for itself with third gen ryzen desktop cpu's. And their fourth gen ryzen mobile cpu's just got put on the market not long ago. And they are dominating the mobile market with a frenzy.

There will be a huge shift for AMD over the next few years. I saw them finally start releasing ryzen in business workstations which has been almost unheard of. It's a good thing to see. The server market is making some small shifts over to AMD as well. It just takes time to plan out.

Now, we just need Intel to allow AMD to use thunderbolt 3..........I NEED MY THUNDERBOLT PORTS.

edited: And yes there are some gaming ryzen motherboards with thunderbolt. But they are rare and I want it in the mobile market. Laptops+one cable to power+one cable for dock= Heaven.
