A May 2020 report put together with info from multiple sources pointed towards AMD's client-segment product roadmap going as far into the future as 2022. The roadmap was partial, with a few missing bits. VideoCardz attempted to reconstruct the roadmap based on new information from one of the primary sources of the May leak, @MeibuW. According to the roadmap, 2020 will see AMD debut its 4th Gen Ryzen "Vermeer" desktop processors featuring "Zen 3" CPU cores, built on TSMC N7e or N7P silicon fabrication process, and offering PCIe Gen 4. The "Renoir" APU silicon combining up to 8 "Zen 2" CPU cores with a 512-SP "Vega" iGPU debuted on the mobile platform, and recently launched on the desktop platform as an OEM-exclusive. It remains to be seen if AMD launches this in the DIY retail channel.

2021 is when three new codenames from AMD get some air-time. "Warhol" is codename for the 5th Gen Ryzen part that succeeds "Vermeer." Interestingly, it too is shown as a combination of "Zen 3" CPU cores, PCIe Gen 4, and 7 nm. Perhaps AMD could innovate in areas such as DRAM (switch to PC DDR5), and maybe increase core counts. DDR5 could herald a new socket, after 4 years of AM4. The second silicon bound for 2021 is "Van Gogh," an APU that combines "Zen 2" CPU cores with an RDNA2 iGPU. Interestingly, "Cezanne," bound for the same year, has the opposite CPU+iGPU combination - a newer gen "Zen 3" CPU component, and an older gen "Vega" iGPU. The two chips could target different markets, looking at their I/O, with "Van Gogh" supporting LPDDR5 memory.

It's interesting there are 2 zen3 chips in 2020 and 2021. It makes sense with the unified ccx and memory controller rumors. My speculation is that the 8 core and 16 core versions of Zen 3 might be based on different chips. I'm curious as to how AMD will tackle threadripper and higher core count server chips with zen3. Will we be back to zen1 type interconnect or will they use an IO chip with redundant hardware?

How did Warhol end up among the great artists of all time?
All he did was pop art and sold it to idiots high on drugs.

I'm quite sure that criticism has been levied to every artist in history. What's weird to me is that they have two post-impressionists and then Warhol. He doesn't fir thematically.

Given how late AMD is releasing Vermeer/ Ryzen 4xxx this year, I am skeptical if they will even introduce a brand new Zen 4 based processor in 2021. It may end up as being a refresh like they did recently to introduce the XT version late in the cycle. Which I feel ties in nicely with the rumors that we should still see a Zen 3 CPU in 2021. As for their APU, Renoir was introduced in the first quarter this year, so we have the opportunity to see a new APU in 2021 based off Zen 3. As to why 2 APU in 2021 in the article, it seems at first like a very odd thing to combine Zen 2 with RDNA 2 graphics, while Zen 3 with Vega. But I suspect they may be avoiding 2 new architectures on the same APU, perhaps due to supply or complexity reasons.

Finally some Dutch painters. Now this arch will really git gud

Maybe that's why Warhol is in the same column, he's off to Amsterdam doing drugs? Hmmm

As to why they are releasing two APUs from what I read other places is that the one with Zen 2 and Navi2X is going to be for low power laptops from 7-15w roughly since Navi2X will be much more stronger and efficient and laptops with that low power wont need a dedicated GPU. While the other APU with Zen 3 APU with the Vega GPU is going to be mostly paired with a dedicated GPU in high powered laptops, thus it probably doesn't make a ton of sense to pair it with Navi2X

Well yes, according to this leak; Warhol will be a 7nm Zen3 product in 2021.
