Bykski Unveils Full Coverage Water Block for NVIDIA RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 Ampere

Bykski Tuesday unveiled its full-coverage water-block for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 "Ampere" Founders Edition graphics cards (model: N-RTX3090-X). The block works with both the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition cards as both share a common PCB design, with a few bits changed for the RTX 3090, such as added height and NVLink fingers. The block uses nickel-plated copper as its primary material, with two options for the top - clear acrylic, or POM acetal. The acrylic variant is studded with addressable RGB LEDs.

The main coolant channel of the N-RTX3090-X passes through all the hot components on the business end of the PCB, including a micro-fin lattice over the GPU, and mirror-finish contact surfaces for both the GPU and memory chips. The block comes with support for standard G 1/4" fittings. In addition to the N-RTX3090-X, Bykski unveiled the B-VGA-SC-FX Custom Mount (to be purchased separately), an accessory with an LCD segment screen that displays coolant temperature. The N-RTX3090-X is expected to be priced at 140€.

EK has been around much longer.. at least in retail.

Nice addition. BYKSKI really makes an effort in implementing visual accessories and monitoring events is present in many of their products at a reasonable price. The competition is fierce and I miss these additions in the EK offer. Cables are undesirable in excessive quantities so we don’t even see them in advertising pictures .

I'm using a byski block on my 1080 ftw. no problems and 50c max gaming. can't complain. quality is good,a nd it is really heavy, no leaks like the Corsair one either

Because all the big youtubers almost exclusively use EK water cooling supplies because EK is quite liberal and smart with sending them out to media. That way when someone new to custom loops see custom, they automatically think of EK. Combined with the fact that EK is one of the few companies that sell all the parts you may need for a loop, it is much easier to pick up all parts from one single company than say a cpu block from heatkiller, gpu block from EK, radiator from hardwarelabs, etc,etc.

50c is actually pretty bad for a 1080 with a custom waterblock. That's usually the average temp you get with an AIO watercooling kit for GPU.

My 1080ti has more TDP than your 1080 and max temp i get when stress testing on 3DMark is 35c with its EK waterblock @2100 Mhz

This could be a tell about a mini gap between your GPU and your waterblock because of incorrect thermal pads size. If you have the opportunity you should consider removing and putting back your waterblock on your card.

50c is actually pretty bad for a 1080 with a custom waterblock. That's usually the average temp you get with an AIO watercooling kit for GPU.

My 1080ti has more TDP than your 1080 and max temp i get when stress testing on 3DMark is 35c with its EK waterblock @2100 Mhz

This could be a tell about a mini gap between your GPU and your waterblock because of incorrect thermal pads size. If you have the opportunity you should consider removing and putting back your waterblock on your card.

Mines at 2100/5100 imo it's ok. about 40c lower than with the air cooler, so it perfectly acceptable to me. i will check it when i switch the mount to vertical next week though.

You can't tell how good the block is without knowing the coolant temps and to a lesser degree the flow rate. My 380w 2080 ti runs at 38C but that's just because my coolant is exiting the gpu at 28C.

I agree that's pretty terrible temperature. I'm using tandem of 1080Ti FE for rendering + 3960x on 3x360/30 rads. I get at most 47C on VGA core and that's rendering at full blast which saturates the GPU 100%, frame buffer 80-100%, nothing like gaming which uses fraction of any card capacity. Basically CUDA rendering is like Furmark-lite. When gaming I barely break 30C.

that temp was down to room temp, it usually more like 44c. 3x360 rad you have a lot more rad, than me hence your better temps lol, i have a 280 and a thin 360SE so considering that i am happy with the temp. gonna switch to a 420 front, and use the 360 in the top soon though, and vertical mount next week for looks. heres a pic of my loop, not pretty but does the job. and i did stick a EK sticker on the block.
