We first noticed a silent update to CORSAIR's Hydro X GPU blocks with the upcoming RTX 30-series block, with a third screw and a new I/O terminal added to reflect the design of their Dominator Platinum RGB memory sticks. The third screw is no doubt to help quench any concerns over potential leaks of coolant with the older design, which a few people noted was a possibility when under duress, as opposed to a typical use case necessarily. As it turns out, dealing with any bad PR was worth even retroactively making the change with the older RTX 20-series block too, which we now see on their website and is pictured below.

In addition, the company has been adding white color options of their more popular components for people to use as a change from the typical black. Following the Hydro X theme here, we see the company is now selling white Hydro XR5 radiators with a matte white polyurethane coating over the Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis LS radiators they are based off. The larger XR7 radiators will not get the same treatment unfortunately, given they are not as popular clearly as the thinner XR5, although you can now also get both pump/reservoir units in white too. Their cooling configurator has been updated with the white parts as well.

It's good they FINALLY adressed the third screw issue.
Now I'd like to see their blocks in white. That would make me consider picking one up. I had one in black but swapped it for an Alphacool block as the black just was a bit boring.

Glad they improved the appearance of the side terminal. Now it'll look good mounted vertically AND horizontally. The last iteration looked... cheap and campy IMO.

As long as the gpu is a huge chunk of black a white build still isn’t feasible...

I also wonder if the new terminal as easy to retrofit as just drilling one new hole? In that case it would be great to be able to buy one as an upgrade or even send in the block for them to do it. I would even prefer the new terminal with only two screws because it doesn’t have the ugly af writing.

Wonder if Major Hardware YouTube channel will be happy about this, I know he spotted this problem a while back, RMA'd his waterblock and just had the same exact problem

P.S. if anyone ever wants to paint their Radiator white, like I have, I highly recommend Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy in white, it's an ultra hard and durable enamel that puts on a perfect coat like you wouldn't believe, it honestly rivals powder coating and I say that because several friends thought I had my radiators powder coated when they saw the results. It takes at least 48 hours to fully cure, but it's well worth it. I recommend using Rustoleum clean metal primer too, despite the Appliance epoxy can saying it's not required. Oh yeah, there was absolutely no negative thermal effects both on open loop radiators and an AIO radiator

2nd that !

I've used this stuff for other non-computer stuff, and it is great, but clean up is a bitch if you spill/drip it anywhere & don't get it up before it starts to cure (like your garage floor) !
