It's really called Socket F not sockeL(look at the source)........//mar try to edit your post, that's a spelling mistake.

This is the Opteron socket if I am not mistaken? M2 is 940 pin, and this is 1207. Can't read... German? hehe... :D

it's not german it's nederlands .... can't understand it, too although it looks a little bit like german.

Can't read either so it looks pretty much the same to me.

Are the pins in the socket and not the cpu? That looks totally different...

Yep :wtf:

Now no more worryng about breaking a pin off that expensive cpu.

Will socket M2 have a similar mechanism?

So now we will have to worry about breaking a pin off the mobo :wtf:

Huh...what is the point of that motherboard pin thing? And also, is F the new generation (as in revolution) or just an alternative like Socket 940/754 is to 939? 939's only been out for what...like a year and a half, why would they make a new generation now? Dang, staying up-to-date is not looking good right now, in the middle of all of these evolution/revolution releases. I guess I'll just let everything settle down for a while, this is too crazy.

It's Socket F, and Socket M2 supports DDR2.

I can read it (Afrikaans and Dutch are very closely related :D ) and it doesn't say much lol! Only that the Socket F is for Opterons. And probably dual core also since they have that split of pins in the middle they say. That means they are treated as two individual CPU's although they are in the same socket... They say it supports DDR2 and has PCI-Express controller pins added. And yeah, M2 will have about 940 pins and will support DDR2 yes. ;)
