AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Pictured in the Flesh

Here's the first picture showing AMD's Ryzen 5000 series "Zen 3" desktop processors in the flesh. The first wave of Ryzen 5000 series for the retail channel include the Ryzen 5 5600X, the Ryzen 7 5800X, the Ryzen 9 5900X and the 5950X. All four chips are shown sitting on a tray. All four chips are compatible with existing Socket AM4 motherboards based on the AMD 500 series chipset motherboard with a BIOS update; and with the 400-series using a special beta BIOS which will be released in January 2021. The four should be available for purchase in the retail channel by November 5, 2020, with the 6-core/12-thread 5600X priced at USD $300, the 8-core/16-thread 5800X at $450, the 12-core/24-thread 5900X at $550, and the flagship 16-core/32-thread 5950X at $800.

Eh, either they are running zen+, so they can wait it out a bit more, or zen2, so they don't really have this massive need to upgrade right now.

I honestly am thinking about getting the 570x board if it's worth it. I will take a look at the features and see benchmarks. Not sure if there will be a lot to benefit from the 570x in my case. Although I could really use the faster storage unit that's for sure. So maybe 570x is the way to go.

Jep; but i dont think these CPU's will be a problem in relation of computing power or so. A system with 16 cores and 32 threads boosting up to 4.9Ghz will set you ahead quite a few years before it actually starts to become the lower end.

Like Zen2 there will be a few 'sweet spot' products, and a whole bunch of stuff best avoided unless you're desperate.

The 5900X is the one to get for multithreaded performance.
The 5700 will be the best way to get a fully-enabled CCD of 8C/16T at a sensible TDP and price, so this is the midrange that will be recommended for almost any kind of general-use CPU
The 5600 will be the budget hexa-core to fight off the competition from the budget i5 models.

Given that two of those three models aren't being released at luanch in 8 days, I suggest you pay attention to the 5900X review and ignore the rest until AMD releases the mass-market 5600 and 5700 models in Q1/Q2 2021.

As for the perf/$ I wouldnt be eager to judge a CPU only knowing its price, because I didnt like it. Wait for reviews and charts...
