AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Cinebench Scores Leak

Following the launch of its 5000 series AMD Ryzen processors based on the new Zen 3 core, AMD is preparing for market availability of these processors on November 5th. The reviews are going to arrive on that day as well, meaning that the consumers will know what to look for in the new CPU lineup. Thanks to a LinusTechTips forum member, Jumper118, we have some of the first benchmarks arriving just ahead of the official launch. The user has posted Cinebench R20, R15, and R11.5 scores of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6C/12T CPU. All of the benchmarks were recorded for the single-core values, revealing what we can expect from the new Zen 3 core.

Scoring 609 points in Cinebench R20, 272 and 258 points in R15, and 3.0 points in R11.5, the new Ryzen 5 5600X CPU shows that there is a good performance improvement to be gained from upgrading to the latest generation. Below, you can see the newly released Zen 3 core detailed by AMD, and the benchmark results of the new leak.

Interestingly max single core boost is 4.6 yet they managed to run CB 15 at 4.7GHz.

I would very much like if 5600 would be included in the first tests, any info on that @staff? I mean, guess you would surely tested it if you had it, but is the matter of 'having' or 'getting' under NDA or someone can give YES/NO type of answer?

Great chip, but not worth $299 if you're only a gamer imo. Intel has lowered price of I5-10600KF to 218 bucks recently. That means 37% price difference for 13% higher fps at 1080p. AMD just made Intel budget friendlier option. I never thought I'd have to write that. I'll wait for 5600 non X to get released and then decide. 299 is just too much for 6 cores in 2021 while consoles rock 8 cores.

13% at 1080p is quite significant. You can argue that's too expensive but you are getting more, not to mention that it's much faster in multi-threading. AMD can't keep selling far superior products for less. And, really, you are going to find this chip for less than 300$ from time to time.

Also, they are going to release a 4 core chip at some point probably for far less. Though I wouldn't buy it.

yeah a lot of people don't understand this is AMD business model, look at ryzen 3600 price drops after its launch date. it happens very fast once stock is more realized, and it becomes very cheap. every single generation of ryzen has ended up being dirt cheap within 6-12 months of launch

On a less serious note, I think AMD should and needs to charge this much. Let's not forget that Intel STILL has 10x the financial resources that AMD does (which makes it all that more incredible AMD is able to topple them and is now making Nvidia sweat, another company with resources a magnitude larger). Intel WILL answer back eventually, and it's imperative that AMD makes hay while the sun is shinning so that they have the resources to keep their seriously aggressive R&D running at that same rate.

But let's really look at this price increase.... The 1800x debuted at $500, while the 5800x is $50 cheaper and at least 40% faster.... Can anyone else name another time in which a company's CPUs gained as much performance in as little time with a $50 price drop? I can't.

I think everyone was a bit spoiled by Zen2, but if you look at Zen2, that was priced accordingly, as AMD still did not have the single thread crown and realized that, so they had to price more aggressively to gain market share and increase sales volume, and it worked. This time around, AMD is the best at everything for the time being, and the price is going to reflect that, and yet, they're still reasonably priced considering they're undeniably the best.... I mean, $550 for the fastest $12 core! Can you actually buy another twelve core, even a slower one, for that price?

This is true, and I hope that it happens this time, but these days are numbered they are/were gobbling up market share and had a slightly slower proc which was the reason for this approach. Their business model will adjust to the Intel/Nvidia model once they reach saturation.

If intel doesnt have a competitive product soon, we will start seeing $1K+ 12 core procs with zen 4.

The person that has it bought it from eBay and it is not under NDA. There is a video from Actual Hardcore Overclocking, he said he knows the guy and asked him to do some memory test for him. The memory controller behaves exactly as the one from 3000, AMD them self said it was the same.

Maybe for the top models, but 8 and 6 cores should be fine. It's not a gigantic 600mm GPU die, it's a 75mm chip. You can make much more on a single wafer than GPUs.

I've seen pics from people who have already gotten retail boxes 5600x/5800x's. Wonder if its just a retailer specific screwup or not, but i'm expecting a lot of social media sourced benchmarks hitting the news starting today.

It's really starting to show its age, especially on console ports (Horizon ZD, Detroit Become Human, etc) and I really need the extra cores (and threads!) for WFH
