Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT Pulse Pictured

Here are some of the first pictures of the Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT Pulse graphics card. The company teased these cards late last week, and VideoCardz has its press pics. The RX 6800 XT Pulse (and Pulse OC) will be the more cost-effective custom-design RX 6800 XT option from Sapphire, while the NITRO+ would represent its premium custom-design lineup. The RX 6800 XT Pulse features a large triple-slot cooling solution with a trio of fans. The PCB is 80% the overall length of the card, which means half the airflow from the third fan goes through the back. The card appears to be drawing power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. We'll know more about these cards when Sapphire launches them.

Not digging the approach of having massive cards with shrouds that remind you of 10 year old approaches, especially on a Pulse class card. I personally could add in a Wi-Fi card when my cabled Internet goes, or use other PCI devices. 3 slot coolers make this harder. It does have a vented I/O grill though unlike the reference. Cooling is probably good too, looking at the heatsink. I wonder how the thermals will be, those are some big sinks under the shroud.

CG rendering mistake?

Does it have counter-rotating fans or not?

The CG render has one pair counter-rotating and one pair not.

they keep their nitro series style they've started with rx5XX.
shades of gray/silver and clean shroud shape with minimal decal. not too much rgb. :rockout:

i like their entire nitro lineup

TPU, is there growing evidence of AMD reliance on inline ray tracing? Does this mean they're adapting to lower Ray Accelerating Unit performance? I hope not. AMD needs to be on equal ground with nvidia on all features

DXR1.0 had been EOL'd quite a while ago by Microsoft. DXR1.1 is inline raytracing.

AMD has more capable hardware in terms of functionality as they can offer the same BVH customization as on consoles, althought that needs Radeon Rays 4.0 implementation on PC.

What a flip. Last time (RX 5700 series) I thought Nitro looked better than Pulse. This time it's the reverse.

Can’t argue at all coming from a current and past Nitro owner I’m definitely considering the Pulse next upgrade.

Might have to wait for custom models like these then. Reference card has 2x DP, 1x HDMI and 1x USB Type-C

And AMD was in talks with AIBs if they'll let them release models too (according to videocardz). For 6900 XT that is.

The Nitro side profile looks very similar to the 5700XT one

The pulse is definitely improved - much prefer this style over the heatpipes jutting out, but personally I think the Nitro still looks better

I actually dislike the asymmetrical front trimpiece of 6800 Nitro

6800 Pulse is also asymmetrical on the left side

But the paint hides it.

As for the side profile, the brushed aluminium-esque piece that's holding the SAPPHIRE rgb looks industrial and sexy compared Nitro side.

3 DP, 1 HDMI is the standard in many GPUs. It's for surround setups. There are also some older Gigabyte RTX Super cards with loads of ports on the back, mostly DP and HDMI in fact. Though if I were designing the cards, I would probably throw a row of mini DP and mini HDMI ports for some cards, so you could connect it to a whole lot of monitors without worrying about having only 2 or 3 ports.

Well the Pulse had to be improved as the Navi10 pulse was dual fan and the chips had much lower tdp

I am actually hopeing that there will be a card with standard length but with 3xdisplayport, because that will give me the possibility to upgrade my cpu cooling to an AIO without haveing to build into at new case.

Sapphire really made this Pulse look superb as posted by someone above the side profile of this card is just fantastic. I wish someone at EVGA / ASUS made such design with RTX 3000, unfortunately all of them look trash. AMD AIB cards by Sapphire always look fantastic I guess vs the usual crowd. If only this had Win7 support for drivers, Nvidia got Ampere with Win7 support while AMD doesn't anymore..

Pulse appears to have a dual Bios switch, where Nitro does not.

Edit, after closer inspection and checking their website both support dual bios.

Those coolers dont make any sense, i had an Morpheus II with Fury X and only 1 Fan at the end on it.

1 Fan (120mm) at the end where it blows trough the Fins without PCB 79 Degree C
2 Fans, 1 on Front 1 at the End (2x 120mm) 77 Degree C
3 Fans (3x 92mm) 76 Degree C

Maybe best combination would be for a Short PCB 1x 80mm in front for the VRM and 1x big 120mm at the end

I dont understand why, they have not gone with dual fan set up on pulse series. Nitro covers 3 fans , pulse should 2. Best way to serve different consumer needs.

Not sure anyone wants to risk trying to cool a 300W product with just two fans:

Best case scenario - it doesn't suck.
Worst case scenario - It gets wrecked in all reviews, thermal throttles whilst being too noisy, and has a higher RMA rate.

Compared to the cost of the rest of the components, fans are practically free.
