I've actually been replaying the trilogy recently after 5+ years since I last played. Maxing out all the graphics settings and it still looks good imo. Perhaps I'm being nostalgic but I've been having fun :p
Few bugs here and there that causes crashes with a modern PC but they can be worked around. Don't see myself buying this updated edition though.

After seeing the lazy remastered of nfs hot pursuit, i wouldn't trust this "legendary" remastered games. Also 60 bucks? should be 19.99

Many people, myself included, consider Mass Effect 2 one the best games of the last 10 years, story wise in particular, if not the best game. It is in 6th place on Metacritic at the end of the decade. It probably had more lasting impact on me than any game, it is my number one.
For months I never got past the first part of the Game and could not understand the hype. As soon as I got access to the Space Map I was sold. If they can make it into a seamless 1 player experience (Across all 3) it would be epic but we will see.

To be fair - this is not one game, but three, plus DLC's.

Hmm, I'd actually be interested in buying this if they sell it on GOG or Steam without requiring Origin. Never played the original games and so many people have said they were good, I'd be interested in checking out a remaster.

EA has recently been adding their games to Steam. I doubt it will come to GOG tho. I doubt it will be Origin exclusive. That would just be a stupid business move to cut out potential Steam buyers.

I just hope they make a proper remaster. We've seen some lazy efforts by Crytek and Criterion lately. Hope the LE is better.

What if I own the original trilogy with all the DLCs on Origin? Can I get this "update" for free like I can with The Witcher series?

I thought not. :shadedshu:

Mass Effect 1 wasn't even a particularly good game. Solid 7/10 but I'd played many better titles even during it's original launch and parts of it were pretty tedious/repetitive gameplay; I doubt that's aged particularly well.

Bioware really stepped up their game with ME2.
For me it was the best Mass Effect. If i look at it now, yes, it was better the 2nd one with better mechanics and graphics but also more simplistic. I hated that they made the guns have mags or clips instead of that heat management the first game had.

PS: i expected this to be a free update to those who had the game, but then i realized it is EA ...

This. The major draw of the ME franchise is discovering the storyline for yourself - playing it again simply won't be the same. I have to admit that ME2's romance options, varied character classes and branching plot did make me replay it once back in the day, but even then it wasn't as good the second playthrough.
There is (at least was two years ago) one batshit crazy woman on Twich that kept playing/streaming all three (or at least 2+3) games OVER and OVER and OVER for months or who knows how long. Man, I'd die of boredom. I only played ME2 myself and didn't finish it, and thing was so awfully linear I couldn't see any possibility of replayability even if I went with the "evil answers" and different choices in missions.

I WONT have whatever youre smoking. ME literally has the best replayability of any series. There are people who have gone back dozens of times. Most obviously less.
Not to mention that you can't max out your character or unlock the highest difficulty without playing trough atleast once.

There are so many dialogue choices and options that even after years i still discover new things watching someone play trough it.

It's not the end result that matters but the choices you make along the way that make it replayable. By that logic would you say a good movie is no longer good if you already know how it ends? No. It's still a good movie.
Please respect different opinions and start commenting those without personal offenses or just stop watching other people's posts. Friendly advice.

Ya, but I think the games they've been adding to Steam have still required Origin like Crysis 3 & Jedi Fallen Order. I would have bought those if they had just used the Steam client only.

And you're right on the remaster. The Crysis Remaster is woefully unimpressive. As someone who never played the original ME games, would be neat to have a well-implemented remaster.

You don't know anything about the game. Come back when you aren't just making things up.

"Our team at BioWare has been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games. Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form. It’s been amazing to see the adventures of Commander Shepard take on new life in super-sharp resolution, faster framerates, and beautiful visual enhancements. "

"More information to come in the new year!"

They've not re-released them. We have no PS4 or Xbox One versions (back compat is not the same thing), we have no PS5 or Series X versions, so this is the first time since 2 generations ago that they will be all updated and working on modern consoles. This will be the first time and it is badly needed.

New textures, high frame rate support, no more archaic DLC system. There are millions of people that play the games every year even now that have been waiting for updated bug free modern versions of these games.

I actually can't think of a more wanted remaster.
Get lost little child. I know enough from what they said that it is not a full remake. It’s just a glossing over and EA cash-in. Now go back to playing with your blocks. Remember, the round peg goes in the round hole.

It probably had more lasting impact on me than any game, it is my number one.
LOL, that explains your exaggerated reaction to my post since I never said anything to you. Somebody got their feelings hurt over favorite GAMES. :shadedshu:

The whole thing is very amusing and entertaining.

Insta-buy for me, even though I've replayed all 3 multiple times. My only concern is that the official remaster might not be any better than already existing ALOT and ALOV hi-res mod.

So, after everybody raged about ME3's ending, they just thought: here, see that again, now in 4k glory?
Apparently the DLCs did a little to undo the terrible original ending(s) of ME3 but I never played them because I was so disgusted that Bioware thought the original ending(s) was appropriate to release at all. I say ending(s) because it was basically just a red, green, or blue variant of the same catastrophic plot abandonment.

The three ME games were a hundred hours of decisions that altered plot aspects and developed the narrative of Shephard in the series' lore, based on player choice. The original ending discards all of that. Investing in the lore for three games was pointless. All the decisions the player made for three games were pointless. Investing effort and hope in those choices and the lore of the ME Galaxy was a waste of time.

The ME3 ending was a big, fat, Bioware middle finger, aimed firmly at its most invested fans.

Andromeda is on steam but you still have to go through Origin but TBH it is seamless.

It’s nice to know that for the second time now you have been hostile. Over GAMES. EA official explanation, LOL. Since 2002 that hasn’t meant much. EA... .

Remember, you started this when nothing was said to you by me. Time for you to grow up and get a thicker skin. Not everyone in the world is going to trust or think as highly of EA as you do. Nor is everyone excited for a release that by EA’s own words is not a remake and is limited in scope. There is literally no reason for it.

Now, back to playing with your blocks like a good kid.
