NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Landing in January at $999

Actually, it's expected that the RTX 3080 Ti will also lack the NV-Link connector, which would be the only remaining "disadvantage" compared to the RTX 3090, if you can call it that. Also, in my opinion, the 3080 Ti 'killing' the 3090 is an overstatement, because Nvidia was never expecting large sales numbers on the 3090 - it isn't, and never was, the mainstream, high volume product. This is regardless of availability, as even if thousands upon thousands of 3070, 3080 and 3090 were available to buy right now, the 1500+$ is still severely prohibitive, plus the independent reviews have probably had a pretty negative impact on the desirability of the 3090, as it showed it offered pretty pathetic performance improvements over the 3080, while being 210% of the price, comparatively.

In reality, the 3090 is a pretty badly handled product, IMO. The product itself isn't 'bad', but how it was priced, marketed and positioned in the product stack made is seem just.. absurd. Considering the price increase, the 5-10% performance improvement is absolutely laughable, so you end up paying essentially just for the bonus 14 GB of GDDR6X, which will pay off for you in a gaming scenario... how? The 3090 should have never been marketed as a gaming card, especially with the 8K marketing gimmick, which is a total joke for multiple reasons, as proven by independent testing.

An RTX 3080 Ti would be a much more sensible product at $949-$999, but again, who cares what the specs or price is, if we are not going to be able to buy it for ~6 months after 'launch'???

This will get really close to the 6900XT, most likely.
So AMD will probably lop $100 off the price or maybe just shrug their collective shoulders because they'll probably still be selling every single 6900XT instantly at $999 no matter what.
