ASRock announced a new partnership with Razer to develop the ASRock Taichi Razer Edition line of motherboards, the world's first motherboard that is natively integrated with Razer Chroma RGB lighting. Razer Chroma RGB is the world's largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices which supports over 500 devices, 150 natively integrated games and over 15 million users worldwide. The integration with ASRock enables universal compatibility with thousands of addressable RGB (ARGB) components directly into the ecosystem.

"We've been so excited to make the ASRock Taichi Razer Edition debut. The sense of Razer sublimates it into a part of gamers' religion," said Chris Lee, general manager of ASRock motherboard business unit. "Razer knows well about elements gamers looking for and makes everything fall into place!"

"We're incredibly excited to work with ASRock to enable native Razer Chroma RGB integration with thousands of devices," Says Kushal Tandon, Director of Marketing (Software) at Razer, "The ASRock Taichi Razer Edition motherboard is the ultimate control center for all things Chroma RGB."

"We are thrilled ASRock and Razer chose to utilize the AMD X570 and B550 chipsets in their inaugural motherboard, the Taichi - Razer Edition," said Chris Kilburn, corporate vice president and general manager, client component business unit, AMD. "With the AMD 500 Series chipsets and the recently released Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors, AMD has focused on delivering the ultimate experience to gamers. ASRock and Razer have done the same here, creating an ideal blend of performance and style."

Taichi - Razer Edition will be released with two chipset versions: AMD X570 and B550. RGB components on both versions can be controlled by Razer Synapse 3. Besides PCI Express 4.0, there are 2 more features most desired by gamers: strong power and reliable connection. Each board features support for AMD Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors, and it is ready to fully develop CPUs' OC potentials with 16 phase power design and Dr. MOS, offering a completely smooth power delivery and optimized heat dissipation. In addition, Killer Ethernet E3100 and Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650, designed specifically for competitive gamers and performance-hungry users, prioritize real time packets over other packets and offer an uninterrupted online entertainment experience.

Killer DoubleShot Pro enables massive throughput and unbeatable online performance for systems that have both the Killer Wireless and Killer Ethernet products. DoubleShot Pro enables your computer to use Wi-Fi and Ethernet at the same time. It automatically utilizes the fastest network connection (Ethernet or Wireless) for all of the PC's high priority traffic, and all standard traffic is then sent over the other interface. This ensures the highest priority traffic will always be put on the fastest and most reliable link, letting gamers enjoy the networking with lowest latency.

I don't know…. for me that's just a "press release"....

"Launches" in generally also includes prizing and availablity - but it's listed nowhere as of now (no prizing, no availability date). I'd love myself an Asus Razer coop, but ASRock would do as Addition to my "Razer build" when I upgrade my CPU/Mobo next - I'd just like to know the two ditails mentioned before.

Also …. I hope at least one of those is on Wizzards list :D (would love to see him review those two, as I like his honest and open Approach to testing)

None. Like all motherboards, you install the software you want/need from the website. It's a choice to install......whatever. ;)

X570 and B550 will continue throughout the life span of the hot selling Ryzen 5000 series. Z490 will be replaced at the begging of 2021.

I saw these listed on Newegg days ago, along with a curious release from ASUS. As far as the ASRock boards go, the X570 Taichi Razer Edition is $399 (out of stock, of course) while the B550 version is $299, still in stock.

In concerns to the ASUS board I mentioned, it's called the ROG Strix B550-XE Gaming Wifi. Out of stock, but ASUS wants a whopping $329 for it because it comes with this huge M.2 expansion card.

They're asking way too much for motherboards that uses crappy PGA socket.

Go have a coffee or something, you're not making sense

That is a very shady move by Asus. Having you pay for a card that you can't use the full potential of on the board it is bundled with. Unless AMD gives you more lanes in their APUs even an APU could not run this at 16. A waste of money for the premium.

Does it? That pcie based expansion card uses the cpu connected gpu lanes. You can put it in your primary slot and run four (gpu goes to x4 in 3rd slot), or the second slot for two m.2 modules (gpu still at x8 in primary slot).

It's a B550 you only get 16 lanes total the 3rd slot would not be a good option for a double slot GPU on the bottom of most cases.

I answered something different.... but ok(?). I swear what I quoted was edited too (it clearly wasn't)... said something about not being able to use all the sockets? Weird.

But yes, in some cases using the bottom slot and a beefy video card may not be the best idea or fit. That said, if you're running 4-6 M.2 modules, something tells me you aren't using beefy graphics for gaming (though perhaps creatives need that much storage and a beefy GPU).

Either way, my point was simply that it was possible to use all of the sockets on the card... fitment is a totally different issue nobody was talking about.

EDIT: Jesus man... that was YOUR reply INSIDE someone else's quote confusing things yet again. :(

So, I was replying to YOU about the lane count/use...and you moved the goal posts (still a good point) to fitment. Got it. :)

How much is the Razer premium over the normal Taichi's?
$0. It's $299 as well.
