AMD today released the latest version of Radeon Software Adrenalin drivers. Version 20.12.1 WHQL comes with support for the new Radeon RX 6900 XT. The drivers also come with optimization for "Cyberpunk 2077." Among the issues fixed with the release include a bug that caused lower than expected clock speeds in certain games, a synchronization issue with HP Reverb G2 VR HMD with RX 6800 series, display corruption issues with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege in hybrid graphics scenarios; an issue with CrossFire, and Performance Metrics Overlay. Grab the drivers from the link below.

  • Cyberpunk 2077
Fixed Issues
  • Gaming applications can sometimes get stuck running at lower than expected graphics clocks on Radeon RX 6800 series graphics products.
  • The HP Reverb G2 VR headset may fail to sync or may have a black screen when run with Radeon RX 6800 series graphics products.
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege may experience corruption in Hybrid Graphics scenarios when using the Vulkan API on an extended display.
  • Crossfire may experience issues when attempting to change the games resolution to a 16:9 ratio.
  • Performance Metrics Overlay and the Performance Tuning tab incorrectly report higher than expected idle clock speeds on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products.

Odd that the Radeon Software doesn't feature this update and sits on 20.11.2.
I'll update manually if it's an important update for Cyberpunk.

Stable, no changes for OpenGL, no changes for Vulkan, Vega iGPUs still lack ReLive. Boring normal release for those of us that can't get a Kama-sutra00XT nor care about Cyberpunk 2077.

No ReLive functionality available on your 3400G? Do you have other software to test VCE/UVD functionality? That's supposed to be the feature that gives the Vega IGP an advantage of Intel's QuickSync.

The enconder is functional, but due to how OBS works, it isn't usable there (too many skipped frames due to having to sync RAM and VRAM copies, on a dvice that uses RAM). So without Relive, the only sane choice left is Microsoft's Game Bar, which loves to alter brightness. That or third party non-stable rip-offs that make recent Vulkan versions crash, because "no AAA uses it yet".
Works well in Handbrake for encoding, the quality is terrible in h.264 and passable in h.265.

Makes sense. H.264 was not that good (compared to NVENC in the 10/20-series) with GCN5 GPUs and Navi 1, but HEVC should be competitive.

The only stupid issue with h.265 is that Handbrake's implementation ignores the bitrate you set. You ask for 1500kbps, the end result is 8000. You ask for 3000, you get 17000.
