Those guys are always on the move...

Still, I trust that CDPR will recover quickly. Whatever happens with this game, it won't be enough to break them.

That was my exact point. Quantumphysics stated that the game can't be ran without a RTX 3090, for that reason shouldn't be released on older hardware. I *disagree*.
Fair enough. The way you stated your response came off a bit odd.

This I don't get. CP2077 is excellent! The money they've made from it will MORE than offset the market dip. And...

this is true. bravo to cdpr for this. better to address this kinda stuff head on rather than keep sweeping under the rug. respect +

So because CDPR offers a refund it's all good now?

This bullshit with buggy releases like this has to stop.

A RTX 3090 at 4k is unable to reach 60 FPS at ultra settings.

A 3090 can't even do 1440p with RTX Medium at 60fps with DLSS disabled, which if you do enable DLSS it reduces overall quality to the point where it's better to just play without DLSS/RTX entirely.

Ha! No, of course not. Hell, if I had bought the game, I'd be super pissed at the fact of having to pull out a hex editor and manually modify the goddamn executable so that it takes advantage of all my threads, specially since my rig doesn't have a 16-core CPU. Even with a refund, it would leave a bad taste in my mouth. You can only experience a game for the first time once in your life.

Being buggy is the last concern for me - those can be fixed. Sever lack of content, AI and interactions is a more glaring issue.

My PC is not yet upgraded (1080 + 6700k) and cyberpunk ran quite poor on it. Wonder how the updated console version will run on my Series X, as I'm sure I'll have a better chance to try on it first before I get my hands on new gpu and cpu for non-scalper price. But being honest, the game doesn't look that great or revolutionary neither on the graphics nor gameplay side. GTA V look prettier and more detailed despite being older.

Even though it would make zero sense financially, they should have trashed the last gen console version and just developed for PC and then next gen consoles.

It doesnt help that CDs CEO said "Cyberpunk actually runs pretty well on last gen systems" (Xbone and PS4)

The fact they even bothered with last gen annoys me. Devs need to leave those consoles in the past and start developing for next gen. Holding the entire industry back with this bs, and its not just CD that seems to still have a hard on for last gen.

It is pretty amazing how these people who are complaining about the PS4 and xbone versions couldnt see the writing the walls when they delayed the game 3 times due to problems, and then complain their potato of a system is struggling to run a game that looks like it was built with mainly PCs in mind and next gen hardware, even though the game was announced with only last gen and PCs available. (CD doesn't really develop with consoles in mind first then PC. One of those few studios).

The thing that gets me is, did these people buying for ancient consoles really expect it to look as good as all the marketing material that was running it at ultra settings? IMO, instead of refunds, CDRP should have just given them a copy for the newer console as well as their older console, so when they do upgrade they can still play the game but with better graphics. So if you buy a PS4 version of the game, you get the PS5 version as well, and same with Xbox. I mean, wasn't it them that said that should be the way any a while back? They said something like you should only have to buy a game once.

I mean, back when Mortal Kombat came out for SNES/Genisis and I bought it for Gameboy I didn't complain that it didn't look as good as the SNES version...

What I don't understand is what the problem is. The PC version rocks and even plays well on older systems.

As for the console launch.... Well, that might be different. However, expecting a modern game to play the same on 8 year old non-upgradeable hardware might be asking a bit much.
Just a reminder that this game was anounced before the PS4/Xbone even came out and has been in development for a looooooong time. Not to mention the original release date was April 2020. Expecting the game to be on the PS4/Xbone wasn't a bit much at all, imo.

That said, the biggest problem for me is that 41% of the pre-orders were for consoles and CDPR didn't give reviewers access to the console versions to review before release. This is some incredibly shady shit from CDPR and offering refunds is the bare minimum.

They initially promised a ps3/360 version of witcher 3 which was later cancelled. Didn’t stop them from switch release that would be a lot like those consoles could run it though. Nevertheless, strange they didn’t cancel for old gen similarly this time.

The spastic was CDPR. ;) The hardware isn't fully to blame. The base console versions look bad and perform bad even by console standards.

I agree. did ps4/xbox users really think it was actually going to run on the old potato's? they should have know and just bought a new console to play it. it just proves how much console users overate their machine against a Gaming PC. it has always been no contest and "probably" always will.

Two words: Scope creep.
The problem with games that take too long in development, is that they can't hope to compete based on what the market was like at the beginning or mid-through the development process.

I'm not saying that CDPR isn't at fault here, but what were people expecting? 60fps E3 demo-reel like gameplay on an old ass PS4/Xbox One that wasn't even a high end pc back when they're launched 7 years ago? Get real, obviously its going to run like shit on last gen consoles. I think CDPR isn't at fault for the bad performance you just can't expect a next gen game that requires a lot of computing power to run amazing on an old ass mid range PC either so why consoles? They ARE at fault for not showing people how bad the experience is, and frankly they shouldn't even had tried to port it to the PS4/Xbox One but I guess money talks huh.

My understanding is that the current gen Xbox Series X is not a 60 FPS at 4K experience. The game hovers around 45-50 FPS at 4K, and this isn’t even a graphics enhanced Xbox Series X release.

Also, if you buy the Xbox One X version you get the Xbox series X version free. They confirmed this.

I understand that very well. I just wished they had the balls to say something like "We tried our hardest to bring Cyberpunk 2077 to all platforms but in the end we just couldn't realize our vision to an acceptable degree with last gen consoles". But I guess the money loss from that slice of the pie spoke higher.

I also don't get all the CDPR apologists saying "Well, what did people expect on super old hardware". Based on the games released in the past years and CDPR's own words, I'd say "more than what they got". CDPR's own CEO said just before the game's release that it was running surprisingly good on base consoles. He only got the surprising part right.

Man are you saying outloud that console players are dumb ? Please, dont, they still want to believe that their new 2 months old console will bring 60FPS@4k for only 500€/$

You gotta remember that console gamers are also the ones that don't care what the game is actually rendered at, only what the TV says the output stream resolution is. If their TV kicks over to 4K, they think they're gaming at 4K. It doesn't matter that consoles routinely render the game at much lower resolutions and then just upscaled them to 4K before outputting the image to the TV.

Xbox Series X is nothing but a custom built 6900 XT. It is capable of native 4K, and Microsoft claims 60fps/120fps. Cyberpunk is running dynamic 4K on Xbox Series X using the Xbox One backwards compatibility, hovering around 45-50 FPS.
