Yeah, and my car can do 300 mph on the moon. I seriously don't understand the interest in LN2 overclocking.
Some people seem to find this purposeless endeavor entertaining. It's just like with sport, completely pointless and uninteresting for anyone not actually doing it.

well they will be saying "wait till Ryzen 5000 is IN STOCK"

its funny right how intel 10th gen is readily available and AMD is out of stock...wonder if that means that more people (want to) buy AMD?

Plenty of stock over here, if you want to pay 350€ for 5600X (when a 3700X is sub 300€ and performs the same at 1440p), or 490€ for the 5800X, 690€ for 5900X (70% extra for + 20% performance compared to 3900X).

That's strange. Here in the UK, you can have a 5600X for £300 and a 5800X for £430. Plenty of stock, too. The 5900X costs £600.

Nice to show how this cpu is capable of overclocking but these conditions are not for everyday use.

Sorry, but 6,9 Ghz is nothing new on a CPU on LN2. You get my interest when we break the 8 GHz barrier or close to 9 GHz.

Like these old chips dit.

As an overclocker, high herz on a shit cpu says me nort.

Looks like not all 'Rocket Lake' CPU's will be supporting PCIE 4.O. And Intel leaving out some of the rest of the processors even though they are part of the 11th generation and thus stay in 3.0. A case of "Refresh" and an expression we all came to know so well.

If Intel does this, then I am not surprise at all. After all, they tend to slice and dice their product very finely to make consumers pay more for any additional features. For example, you want HT, sure pay extra $$$. You want more cache, sure just pay the extras. You need to overclock, no problem, just pay more of the K series processors + a Z series chipset motherboard. This is why I would prefer not to get an Intel product if possible.
Anyway, I struggle to find any meaning to all these extreme overclocking results. Sure it can run 6.9Ghz on liquid nitrogen, but so what? 99.99999% of the users are not going to be able to get this sorts of results. Moreover, it is not a sustainable result unless you have an unlimited amount of LN2 to maintain this overclock. This applies to both Intel and AMD chips by the way. The results may win some price money for the overclocking team, but pointless to everyday usage and for almost everyone.

Some people seem to find this purposeless endeavor entertaining. It's just like with sport, completely pointless and uninteresting for anyone not actually doing it.
Its the concept of world records. As a one off for the feat, it may make sense to help the team win some cash money or products from sponsors. But even for the team, the overclock is meaningless because they cannot sustain this sort of overclock in day to day usage.

10900K is actually better.

But since this isn't a real-world scenario (and I have no cooling system like this for my PC), I guess it doesn't matter.

Intel core people are here too. Not too happy with how things are turning up...

Intel needs a change in leadership ASAP!

Yes the Core i3, Pentium & Celeron series of the 11th Gen will not offer PCIe Gen 4.0 support and will retain Gen 3.0 compliancy. So Intel's 11th Gen desktop CPU's are split between two architectures. It appears that Intel wants us to only buy I7 & I9 CPU's to make more profit.

Not too happy with how things are
I suggest that we both watch the Intel "Earnings Report" on Thursday, January 28 and see what the boys have to say. 2021 is a big and busy year for them and pushing out two generations. Alder Lake later this year with 16-cores may just be revolutionary for Intel as their past was possessed with "Refreshes" only. Nothing really new. Myself: Not too happy what's going on with the country overall. The virus is one thing but there is so much more.

Place your bets on how many polar bears Intel sacrificed to the gods to push 6.9.
