How is it that this little jewel of a mini PC can have not 1 but 2 USB-C ports, but regular, 2020 models of stand alone full-size ATX cases can barely manage to get 1, if any at all........

Because these ports are on the motherboard, so they don't require internal connectors or expensive cabling to feed said ports. While I agree that the lack of front panel USB-C is a travesty overall, 2 10G ports would require two motherboard headers, which essentially no boards have. So sadly this is an area where prebuilt SFF solutions are going to have an advantage - at least until case makers start just swapping out 5G A ports for C ports, which ... well, is an option.

It's a refresh of the previous Jupiter A320 (which AFAIK didn't have Renoir support), so that's not really surprising. Would still have been good to have, of course.

Ooh, I want.

Looks like an AMD version of the HP ProDesk 600 G2s I have, which are great little computers.

Pop a 4700G (assuming power and heat aren't issues) in this and it'll be a sick HTPC/emulation/light gaming box. Way better than the Atari VCS will ever hope to be.

Looks like the price is unknown, I'd guess around $200 USD for a barebones unit given AsRock's history.

Where can you actually buy Ryzen 4000G?

It's amazig that there were mountans of Raven Ridge leftovers, but you still can't find Renoir in retail a year after launch.

It has never been launched for retail, so it's not really that amazing. One is an actual retail product, the other only exists on the grey market. That being said, I got my 4650G off Ebay for a reasonable price from a reputable seller, and it works beautifully.

I'm just hoping the Zen 3 APUs are easier to find, As they finally fixed the castrated 1MB L3 cach per core (plus single CCX).

I would happily buy a system like this to pop in Cezanne 6 core for my sff server!

IIRC there was a Lisa Su interview (I want to say at Anandtech, but don't quote me on that) where she essentially confirmed 5000-series APUs getting a retail launch. I mean, the 4000-series not getting one was really weird, so this isn't quite news, but it's still good to know. I won't be upgrading my 4650G - it's more than enough for my HTPC - but I am looking forward to AM5 APUs with DDR5 and Navi. Those will be something, that's for sure.
