PlayStation 3 Firmware 1.92 Released

An update to the PlayStation 3 system software was released on September 4, 2007, bringing it from version 1.90 to 1.92. The new firmware improves backwards compatibility with PlayStation 2 (PS2) titles.

New for 1.92: Playability status with the PS3 system has changed for some PlayStation 2 format titles. To check on the latest status, visit the search site for compatible titles (coming soon).
You can now adjust screen display settings while playing PlayStation and PlayStation 2 format software.

I'd love to know where to get some that display @ 1080p. That blue game background they show on the PS3 website is sweet, but I don't know where to get it either.

got to say PS3 has taken way to long. XBOX360 elite will p*ss all over it and i really am a PS guy. i hate it when MS jumps in to corner yet another market but i think they have won the battle against sony.

the Wii however is just pure family fun.

Excellent!

I missed out on the 60GB PS3's with hardware-based PSX and PS2 game play, so any updates that improve compatibility or features of the emulator is a big bonus to me.

I don't have a PS3 yet, so I don't know how backgrounds are set, but any Flash file that is purely vector should work.

IE: "Xiao Xiao" should work great while "8-bit Theater" would probably result in very blocking characters.

"Winning" - doesn't matter to much to me as I don't hold stock in any of the companies

Wii - had something I wanted so I bought it.
PS3 - has something I want, so I'm going to buy it.
Xbox - doesn't interest me in the slightest, so I could care less.
