In what is more proof that a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti launch is around the corner, cartons marked "GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Ventus 3X 12G OC" were spotted on their way to distribution centers in the US, according to a photo leak by "Lok LOK" on Facebook, who reveals several pictures of such cartons with their shipping labels intact. The lot also included several other graphics cards, including the GT 710 and RX 580.

The Ventus 3X OC represents MSI's value-ended custom-design graphics cards based on a given GPU, while the top-end is covered by the Gaming and SUPRIM series. This leak reinforces the theory that the RTX 3080 Ti will max out the 384-bit GDDR6X interface of the GA102 silicon, arming it with 12 GB of memory—2 GB more than the RTX 3080, but half that of the RTX 3090. This SKU is expected to be NVIDIA's response to the Radeon RX 6900 XT. AMD, meanwhile, is getting its partners to release higher clocked versions of the RX 6900 XT based on the new "XTXH" variant of the Navi 21 silicon.

Alright, a crate full of GeForce GT 710 2GB DDR 3...now more fake 1060s and the like will be hitting the markets.

The black marketeers are waiting on the docks for the rest to be unloaded.

Hate to see how much the cards will sell for
I assume that it should be in the USD 999 region since it is meant to compete with the likes of the RX 6900 XT. But good luck finding it at the MSRP because it will be gone and back at 3x the price from scalpers listing.

I cannot believe they'd mark the crates/boxes that obvious.

Bet they get "lost" in transit.

The irony is they don't even need to mark them as fake names anymore. They'd sell as is in this market.

I'll buy that pallet of 3080 Ti from them for $569,99.

Meh, we are already half way through this GPU cycle. I could care less about these unobtainable cards. Better to just wait for next gen.

It's going to be a repeat of this generation. Nothing has changed yet.

We still have 6-8 months to go. I very much doubt the pandemic will still be a large factor.

Don't just focus on the Pandemic. Miners are still, and probably will be, a factor for a long time.

Bitcoin is best mined on ASICs, by far.

What about Ethererum? It's very profitable from what I hear the miners say. Mined with GPUs. Some analysts are saying it will go from the present $2,400 to around $7,000 by 2025.

The thing is, mining gets confuddled because when you mine Ethereum many miners just instachange it to bitcoin and claim they are "mining bitcoin." They aren't like, at all, but the wording makes it sound like they are. And what do they care if they get what they want at the end of the day?

What about the scalpers? Their not going away either.
I really feel we could even feed the mining demand were it not for the scalpers and pandemic.

There really are three factors:

1.) Pandemic

2.) Scalpers

3.) MIners

Take away your choice of two, limiting the problem to one, and the GPU-at-MSRP world could probably function. But it won't with more than 2 "showstopping issues" on the board.

They certainly aren't going away no matter what. They are getting huge profits selling to the miners but even if crypto crashes they will continue but at a lot less prices than at present.

ethereum moving to proof of stake like bitcoin, which means ASICs will have the best efficiency by far.

What about the scalpers? Their not going away either.

Scalpers leave when supply exceeds demand. All AMD and Nvidia need to do is to ensure they have enough cards for gamers. This shouldn't be a tall ask given this benefits their revenue. They won't have the benefit of a pandemic to spike demand next time around. In fact they may have the opposite, where people are buying used mining GPUs in mass instead of paying retail.

I guess we will not see MSRP except if Nvidia sells them directly.
6900XT at MSRP (1000€) at the moment is only possible on AMD website where it sells out in few seconds every time they bring in a new batch.
Regular folks like us has almost no chance there.
My 6800XT which was custom watercooled and warranty voided was damaged.
So I tried twice to get 6900XT from AMD directly with a hint from a person on which day and what time window it will be there.
They were gone even before I could check out my basket.

On online seller shops cheapest 6900XT now sells for 1600€.
They launched new 6900XT XTXH which are selling starting 2000€ here in Germany.

But that's not how it is happening. Nvidia reported a 61% increase in revenue for 2020 over the last year.

There is a limit to how many GPU wafers can be had from the fabs for either Nvidia or AMD.

The Pandemic isn't the only driver behind the huge GPU prices. The miners are also a huge part.

Don't even announce them since they will only be sold by the truckfull to miners. Just ship them to miners and stop teasing us with your paper bullshit msrp.

Then no doubt PC Gaming is on it's last legs.

Or everyone goes back to 1080p and try to make the best of it with cards in the lower end range like 3050 series, as 4K gaming will be too expensive.
