If they sold them a bit cheaper sure. Still waiting for the black versions..and ThermalFake will NOT be an option.
The Thermalfakes are crap as well, and anyway I refuse to buy any of their crap after they started this shit with the cases... Despicable company.

GTs historically were never cheap, so I don't see why that would be different now... And honestly if you want cheaper fans Arctic P12s are almost neck and neck with A12x25s for a quarter of the price, I very much doubt these will compete in that range... The P12s also have a 140mm variant, and the bearings (so far in my experience at least) are better than GTs.

Say what you want about maintenance and user serviceability, I don't want to have to open up my fans every 1-2 years to lube them. I'll gladly pay Noctua the extra $5 and go on with my day.

Just curious, which version did you have?
I only have the GT15's (1850rpm 3-pin)
Nidec-branded 1850rpm 4-pin, no idea if they have a more specific model number than that. Reasonably new, bought them in early 2017, stopped using them in ... 2019? Something like that.

@GorbazTheDragon I currently have 11 GT15's so if I gonna replace them with Noctua's I probably need to take out a small loan. But you're right about quality, in another build I only have A12x25's FLX.
As for maintenance, I've never lubed any of my fans including my ..checks data.. 2011 (edit: year not amount) GT15's.

@Valantar I have a certain hatred for PWM fans as they have a tendency to make weird ticking, or as you guys already wrote, grinding noises.

I've run them off straight DC and had the exact same issue with mine, so I can confirm it's bearing-related, and has nothing to do with the PWM, sadly.

Wow...return of Nidec after what....7-8 years. I am certainly looking forward to this. My 6 special edition "00" Gt's are still in service after all these years.

‎Why you can buy "Gentle Typhoon" fans with the Scythe logo in China. What is the relationship between Scythe and Niedc Servo?‎
‎That's a thing of the past, not now‎

Finally, this is what I was looking forwarded to.

There are in every case XPG makes. I'm looking at a pair of them right now. They make them with ARGB LEDs too if that is your thing.
