SILVERSTONE SST-LC16S-M Silver Aluminum front panel HTPC case, OCZ GameXStream 700W Power Supply, ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP, Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Conroe 3.0GHz@3.2GHz, 2GB Kit OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Gold Edition Memory, SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive, LITE-ON Black 20X SATA DVD-Burner with LightScribe Technology, SLI with EVGA GeForce 8600GT Superclocked Video Card.

Mods:
Added 3 80mm silent fans. Cable Management.

Built this for a customer who wants to hook it up to his 60" plasma TV, with a DVI to HDMI adapter, and the VFD, IR, remote control, iMON media center software is just awesome. Windows Vista Ultimate runs smooth with a 5.6 score, also customer wanted 8800 Ultras or 8600GTS cards but just would not fit.

I give 8/10

Nice system and i like when u said that u put more fans for better air flow, and its a powerfull machine with 5,6 points in vista scores, maybe if u dont overclock the system the temps could be down and the system will works better and with more eficiently.
I only remake the cable management and try to not obstruct the air flow, because the PSU have much cables try to hiden than or clean better the space inside case

Small overclock, cool case, nice job on adding the fans. For a customer though, the wire management could be alot better than it is.

If were me personally making a computer for another (they are paying me to make them a computer), I would make wire management a BIG priority. That being said, I don't think you made it your priority. Customers like their products to look professional.

Well thanks for the votes, as far as the wire management goes thats as clean as it's going to get. Also I never had a customer complain about the wires looking sloppy.

And what exactly is the point of SLI'ing an HTPC other then wasting money and making extra heat for no reason, one 2600XT or even Pro would be better, Also 700Watts also another waste of money 450-500Watts would run that easily, and what exactly is the point of a 200MHz OC in an HTPC other then once again creating useless heat especially with stock cooler, a C2D E6850 @ stock is more then enough for this PC.

Hmm, who's money is it wasting, yours, and one 2600xt playing on a 60inch plasma, Never. and who said anything about heat, the system runs nice and cool, 700 watt power supply hell ya, nice clean power for the system to run for a long time. So if the customer can play a game on his plasma with no hiccups and the system runs cool, where's the wasted money. The Asus manual even stats 550 watt min power supply for any type of SLI. And the OCZ 700 watt power supply is cheap at newegg at $109, I mean how much cheaper can you get then that.

I also get your point about the wire managment. It is a htpc. Therefore it has no windows to see inside and the customer probably isn't going to ever look inside himself.

The wire aren't that bad anyways.... its not like you have a full size tower to hide em all in like most of these other guys. And you can't just hide em all behind the motherboard tray either, again like most of the others. Maybe next time a modular pc may help a lot with the restricted space...

I like it. A lot. What sort of scores do you get with 3d mark. I haven't seen to many 8600gt sli systems around.

The psu is an overkill but like you say, its only $109 from the egg, which is a friggin good deal so what the hell. At least it will never get stressed and therefore run nice n cool.

I did bench it with 3Dmark2001, 27000 in vista and 42000 in XP. I know that's a big change in scores but it still plays games smooth. Maybe when SP1 come out for vista all will change. Thanks for the vote.
