This just goes to show exactly how starved the market is for graphics cards - that the puny GeForce GT 730, from seven years ago, is being relaunched by a graphics card company. MSI might be oddballing the market here, since we haven't seen any other brand offering this particular graphics card. Of course, this won't solve the gaming graphics card shortage - this is a product that's meant for users that don't have a GPU output on their CPU and need to have a discrete solution.

The GT730 may have been revived partly due to its usage of DDR3 VRAM instead of the now ubiquitous GDDR6 - the pricing pf which is bound to increase, as we've seen with current ridiculous levels of demand. The GT 730 packs 384 CUDA cores and features a 902 MHz boost clock and 2 GB of DDR3 memory operating at 1,600 MHz across a 64-bit memory interface. The GT 730 sips only 23 W of power, meaning that it doesn't need any power delivery outside that of the PCIe port - and aiding in the card's passive cooling. The fact that this is a Kepler card - and the fact that NVIDIA has announced end of support for Kepler cards with the release of the GeForce R470 drivers - should actually have no impact on its preferred usage on today's technology landscape.

When I said I was waiting for a replacement for my low profile 1650, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.

Erm WTF? How exactly does this help anyone other than Chinese web cafés, Oh and not forgetting MSI's profiteering ass?

Nothing like dumping dusty old wherehouse detritus on the market for a quick buck or 3.

At least Zotac's passive 730s are undead too. And a bunch of 710s, of course. The prices of all of them have risen by ~30% or more since December.

Yesterday saw on local retailer sites GT 730, but these were from Zotac, Gigabyte, Asus. MSI is jumping in the boat looks like.

Hmmm, should I buy cpu without gpu or cpu with gpu. Well, duuh, ryzen 4xxxG or 5xxxG is the way :).

i gave up on upgrading my gpu, tired of F5 mashing. And i will not buy a single overpriced gpu, i prefer to stop gaming or just buying a PS5 first

If Nvidia and AMD can't give a rat's ass to putting the cards at MSRP in the hands of the gamers, so f themselves. Your greed will destroy yourselves in the end, i will not forget this.

They're the ones that had shipments "mysteriously" disappear in transit, as well as usually had first GPU's appear in stores long before launch date. Surely, they are the ones that will save gamers.

Well, this is probably the worst GT 730 they could offer. Yes, it is at least Kepler, but when GT 730 was still considered a graphics card, there where 3 models available. With totally different specs.

GT 730 Fermi GPU, DDR3 and 128bit data bus
GT 730 Kepler GPU, GDDR5 and 64bit data bus
GT 730 Kepler GPU, DDR3 and 64bit data bus

MSI chose the card with the less memory bandwidth, meaning it is TOTALLY USELESS.
Probably it is also the cheapest to produce.

I would not be suprised to discover many of these cards appearing to fill the void are just cleaned and refurbed cards folks had used and recycled already.
So guys, make damn sure to recycle those cards so they can be obtained for free to them and sold to you (Again) for a nice bit of "Cha-Cha-Ching".

Still no 200-250$ range gpus that miners can't use because of low Vram... They even released 3050 series on laptops. 40% of steam survey is still waiting for this range cards, or they have to buy 500-650$ rx580 1650 1660 cards, or your know, Geforce NOW (soon at Australia) They don't have shortages where money at... Both Amd and Nvidia.

Most will buy the consoles, since they are appropriately priced for your region, which I assume is not the USA. Shoot, I never thought the $480 Vega 56 I bought in September of 2017 would be this valuable to me, nearly 4 years later. (I have this, a Vega 64 ROG Strix and RX5700 reference and am selling none of them.)

Honestly £6 is my bet, being an obsolete GDDR3 crap, smashed hard by basically any average iGPU these days. Take in consideration that the lower you go on the stack, the more you should lose performance/buck. Or at least that was the rule once when things were 'pink' asf
I divided its performance by GTX 960's numbers (£35-40 REAL value) and hence the result. But I'd rather go get some KFC with this money or buy a starter NAS for whateva cash they'll be selling those.
Long live second hand market, buy none of this overpriced dogsh!t.

Yep, that totally solves it, no display port, no 4K, only hdmi 1.4, legacy VGA,DVI, at least GT 1030 had dual 4K/60 outputs. Why can't we have GT 3030 already.

Hopefully they'll be doing a whole brotherhood of 30(10-40)'s ASAP
And as excepted, AMD don't give a damn about once looked for lower-end products. Not everyone is gonna game at 1440p/4k anytime soon.

No, that's the GTS 450. 99.9999999% of fake cards are GTS 450's.

They are. The GT 710 is worse than any modern iGPU. I think the GT 730 beats the Vega 3, but only if you starve the Vega 3 with single-channel RAM for the CPU and not enough VRAM (512MB) for the GPU.

When you think Nvidia giving miners Turing card was bad, gamers gets an ancient card while Nvidia and AIB partners are happily offloading Ampere cards to miners via their back door. The way its meant to be played indeed.
