I definitely welcome more choice of board makers.

Atm, effectively being stuck with ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, AsRock, the big four have issues all over the shop that I'd welcome another competitor to shake things up with.

I don't ever recall EVGA having much of an impact if any on the MB market. Better yet when was the last time you saw an EVGA board recommended for a build. They've always been expensive to my recollection.

evga always goes where the records on ln2 are at. im guessing we will will see rdna3 stuff if they dont like what nvidia has, unless nvidia uses its deep pockets or just have a good gpu

Even if EVGA have interest to be AMD AIB for GPU some of AMD AIB probably will ask AMD to not let that happen (because it will increase the competition among them). Also it depends on what kind of contract EVGA had with nvidia. Did they agree to be nvidia exclusive partner or not when they sign the contract to make nvidia gpu. Worse case it will be another repeat of what happen with XFX before.

Not that easy nowadays considering how tightly chipsets are integrated. In case of X570 there is likely a lot of proprietary tech inside there that AMD would not like to give out most likely. Not to mention that chipset busness is low margin and if we know one thing about Nvidia is that they LOVE their high margins.

Btw i did own nForce chipset board back in the day: s939, ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

This is true, and definitely not the first board they produce for AMD processors. However, this is the first time they are working directly with AMD, using their chipset, as opposed to working with Nvidia to implement AMD boards with Nvidia chipsets.

For a second there, to my sleep deprived eyes, it looked like "BORK". I'm not much for aesthetics, although I think computer hardware got far into the "stupidity" territory with all the festive blinking lights and all the gamer-y super serious naming (I'm really looking forward to "ultradeath gaming 9000 gaming trillion gaming XXX super mega gaming and even more GAMING" thing), but call your motherboard "Bork" and you have my attention. I was disappointed.

Well, I am to blame as my memory only goes back a limited period.

Also, they weren't real AMD motherboards? They used the NVIDIA chipset in the past and now it is back to full AMD so I'd say first-ever.

Oh man, this takes me back, I recall owning the excellent Abit NF7-S + a Barton AXP 2800+ with an ATi 9700 Pro (or a Hercules 9800 Pro, can't recall) and breaking 20k (I think) in 3DMark 01 (the one with the Matrix-like lobby shootout). Man, I love that era, where AA just works and doesn't favor one over the other.

Ah. Abit, way ahead of their time and mostly made excellent products, until... Well, long story that I only know some details about, but let's just say that someone took the money and ran...
Then we had abit that wasn't nearly as good and I guess that's why they went tits up.
They were the first motherboard maker to remove PS/2 ports on their boards, except it was way too early, as it made installing Windows a pain.
I have so many fond memories of Abit, my BP6 with dual Celeron 300's at 450MHz where the second CPU most likely was never used...
Their press lunches at the Kensington Rooftop Gardens in London.

You haven't updated your system spec's for years looks like so what exactly do you own from evga
You seem to love their mother boards do you have one ?

I love their gpu's and have two atm and have had others in the past just sold them best thing is transferable warranty

Better late than never, I've held EVGA in contempt for Intel exclusivity for the last 4-5 years.

It's inexcusible but perhaps they can start to make amends by bringing flagship-quality boards to people without the obscene $750 pricetag. EVGA's Dark boards were arguably the best of the Intel flagship boards and they typically sold around $400-450 which is a good 40% less than Asus are asking, with MSI and Gigabyte happy to match Asus' ridiculous pricing.

You didn't read it till the end did you? nForce was an Nvidia chipset. This is the first time when it will be fully AMD.

I wish they joined the ecosystem of below-ATX motherboards as well. I've heard EVGA boards are awesome, but I don't want to buy a chassis that needs 5 people to put on my desk.
