Akasa announced today they are shipping the new Vortexx performance VGA cooler. Vortexx was designed by the Hong Kong based Akasa industrial design team, its brief was to improve on existing VGA coolers focusing on cooling performance whilst maintaining low acoustic levels in order to service the large market for retro-fitting VGA coolers.
Akasa is targeting the first of this new range of VGA coolers not just at the gaming market but also at those who want to ensure top performance from their VGA card.
The Vortexx provides good thermal performance with much improved acoustic levels. Two copper heatpipes connect the 60mm square copper base to the bonded fin heatsink. This cooler is designed to optimise mid-range NVIDIA and ATI VGA cards..
The cooler is SLI and CrossFire compatible. It is a perfect replacement for ATI & nVidia stock coolers delivering ultra quiet operation. A new Akasa design 70mm lo-noise fan efficiently cools the GPU and board components including the voltage regulators, it is crucial to keep VRM's cool in order to stabilise graphic performance.
Vortexx has an acoustic performance at 2300 RPM of 0.475 Sone, incredibly silent, whilst delivering a cooling performance of 0.40ºC/W, most stock VGA coolers can only approach that thermal level at 5000 RPM fan speed producing much more noise.
Easy tool free installation is achieved with four thumb screws and a standard 3 pin motherboard power connector.
"Akasa is a market leader in CPU cooling and we aim for the same position in VGA cooling. We designed this product in conjunction with the leading VGA card manufacturers in order to deliver a better cooler " said Adrian Young, marketing director for Akasa.
Vortexx is perfect for x1800,1900,1950 & NV6800, 7800 PCIe, 7900GTX
