All those poor corporations really needed all the government help they begged for, obviously. It would be a real shame if all those small businesses got some help and threaten our corporate overlords by simply existing.

The reason they normally have less reliable revenue is because they are the worst run of the Taiwan big-4, selling mostly poor quality mass-produced products. Asus, MSI, Gigabyte are all better managed.

When you suddenly don't have a choice about which brand you can purchase, then your sales are going to g way up. But I wouldn't expect this to be maintained.

What are you talking about? Do you even know if Acer got government money or you just talking out your ass?

Acer is making good products lately, my daily driver for monitor use is an Acer 165 HZ superspeed IPS panel, and its fantastic quality, I don't regret it one bit.

TLDR My experience with recent Acer's Nitro 5 in terms of hardware quality is positive.

The only Acer's I had are 2 laptops. one is netbook and irrelevant really, the other a recent purchase of their Nitro 5 gaming laptop that was on sale.
The netbook I think is fantastic quality, despite amount of torture I gave it when I was less experienced with hardware.
The Nitro 5 I inspected by opening back case straight away to check internal build quality. PCB is as expected from a established company, while most if not all components (I forgot the chipset) was covered under the heatsink. This include CPU VRM and all GPU VRAM chip. SSD also has extra cooling. The chassis is solid too, the hinge not as loose or bad as I anticipated, was quite ok. Which is good since I came from a 2015 Macbook, which in terms of chassis is very good workmanship. The fan during all-GPU usage is not maxed and (GPU) stays cool. Have not thermal torture tested.
The laptop also came with a SATA connector header, which I think allows end-users to upgrade storage space without selling them new laptop. Also has spare M.2, and I doubt they dabble in the same BIOS hardware whitelist bullshitery as some other major brands practices.

It is worth noting Acer has less presence worldwide than it has in mainland and """"T-island"""".
What I mean is Acer sells more products there and covers wider audience, such as extremely cheap fast laptops, such as (when Zen2 mobile was new) a Zen2 laptop with 58% srgb (LOL). But quality is alright and definitely far better deal than many Dell and HP as after all it is cheaper with Acer too.
And you can read my other comment of my recent purchase of Acer laptop and my positive impression of its component and build.
A growth like this won't be maintained forever, that's definitely true.

You seem to be very protective of a corporation. Are you an investor?
Look, I use Acer products daily, as a matter of fact I'm using the CG437KP in this very moment. I was referring more broadly to corporations getting billions in government help during the pandemic, all while reporting record revenue and watching small businesses fail left and right. The fact that I'm using their product doesn't mean that I wouldn't burn them to the ground given the opportunity as I have nothing other than contempt for the corporate world in general.

not an investor (I don't think Acer is even on the stock market is it?), just calling out your crap. you offer no evidence they were one of the companies that took government money during the pandemic, you are just guessing.

which makes me lulz.
