The EVGA SuperNOVA P6 power supplies feature a new platform design, using new materials and better layout placement to achieve greater performance with extremely low ripple and noise in an even smaller chassis. With a full-bridge, LLC Resonant Rectification, and DC-DC design, the SuperNOVA P6 provides rock-solid stability, uncompromising efficiency, and extremely tight voltage regulation.

Hardware OPP is designed to trip at 135% max wattage as a last resort to protect the system, but the SuperNOVA P6 also features firmware OPP to anticipate harmful load behavior 5-10% sooner by shutting off the power supply when over-power conditions persist longer than 1 ms while avoiding an instantaneous overload trigger protection malfunction during momentary peak wattage.

Smaller Size, Bigger Performance
The improved efficiency and voltage regulation minimizes heat, allowing the SuperNOVA P6 to be EVGA's shortest ATX Platinum-certified power supply.

Ultra-Quiet 135 mm FDB Fan with EVGA ECO Mode
To reduce noise, the SuperNOVA P6 maximizes the time the power supply stays silent or quiet at low to medium loads when ECO Mode is enabled.

Which I think is a crying shame and why I've moved away from EVGA units at those price points...

Look forward to reading about these, will see if my faith can be restored :) Failing that I suppose I could always just buy Superflower units......

I love my EVGA 850W P2 that I've had for a few years now. Hopefully the P6 series will be just as good.

SuperFlower based on that case design.
Based on the case design it's just EVGA. The OEM is Seasonic, just as with G6. Not a rebrand of anything we've seen from Seasonic so far tho, so without reviews i'd be wary to buy these units regardless of whether it's EVGA, Seasonic or EVGA+Seasonic.

correct, this is seasonic latest version.
p6 seems to be using the prime focus px platform.

No, they're both new. Seasonic doesn't sell these (yet). These EVGA units seem to be sorta like beta-test stage.

i mean "focus px", messed up the names, sorry about that.
evga does claim g6/p6 is the "next gen".

first gen: focus plus gold 850 (SSR-850FX) / focus plus platinum 850 (SSR-850PX)
second gen: focus gx 850 (GX-850) / focus px (PX-850)
evga g6/p6: seems to be at least gen 2.5

now i wish my 1000g3 to be failed again soon so that evga would replace that with g6 for me.

Well if its an updated rebadged px-1000. The 1000p6 is $299 at Evga, i think id rather go with a Seasonic prime tx-1000 for that money.

The G6 was announced awhile back now and we haven't seen reviews, is it atleast confirmed that Seasonic is the oem ?
It is, on EVGA forum, and it's pretty obvious anyway after looking at the photo of internals they provided. Not that this replaces reviews anyway but Aris may release a review soon, i've heard that he've received a review sample somehow.

The P6 really isn't worth the price. Heck you can buy the 850w titanium evga for $229... cheaper than the P6... and the P6 is only platinum, pricing makes no sense.

titanium has to be way better.

Efficiency doesn't have direct dependence on quality but i agree, the pricing, or at least MSRP on these is nuts. Although, i suspect that this is purely a marketing product, 'we have these new top-tier PSUs', but it's so expensive and likely the supply would be so thin that you can not buy it, instead people would buy EVGA's plethora of other, cheaper, mostly garbage PSUs because people. Would be happy to be proven wrong tho.
