For anyone looking for a true high-end cooler, Dark Rock TF 2 ticks all the right boxes. Highly recommend changing rear fan to intake (filtered ofcourse) with a cooler like this.

For a while i had the Noctua NH-C14S in my Define 7. I had 2 Front Intake, 1 Rear Intake and 3 Top Exhaust. it dropped the CPU temps by 3-5C swapping the rear fan (GPU stayed the same).

I was gonna suggest RGB to be the difference, but the fan is more black than RGB.

For the curious, looks like a different fan, top plate, thicker/denser fins, and I hope a better mounting system. It's a great cooler but I have a hard time seeing the use-case considering it's still 134mm high. The Shadow Rock TF 2 at least makes sense with 112mm height

Agreed.

I like the clean design of be quiet! CPU coolers, but I wish they figured out something better for the fan mount instead of the flimsy bent metal thread.

Something to keep in mind. depending on the case or situation a swap to a slim fan would still shave about 10 mm off and since its a top flow design it will cool VRM components etc. So there are some interesting fringe benefits. Eitherway i got one coming for review. So eventually i will be able to see whats what.

Something to keep in mind. depending on the case or situation a swap to a slim fan would still shave about 10 mm off and since its a top flow design it will cool VRM components etc. So there are some interesting fringe benefits. Eitherway i got one coming for review. So eventually i will be able to see whats what.

Nice, looking forward to the review! I'd probably go with the Shadow TF 2 at 112mm if restricted to 115mm or less, considering the Dark costs 40% more, you'd lose the black look though. It'll be interesting to see how it does against something like a U12A or a Dark Rock 4. I wish Noctua would come out with something like a C12A chromax black

Not as bad (tough bequiet had a few models using exactly that), but you got 4 little bolts to fasten, wich can take a while
