ASUS & Noctua Reportedly Developing RTX 3070 Graphics Card

Of course it is. And of course it means they start out designing everything in beige/brown. That doesn't make changing the color any easier, as they'll have to re-engineer the polymer mixture for both color saturation and the desired physical properties for every color produced. And we know from Noctua's previous comments on Chromax black A12x25s that they wouldn't be satisfied with something with a very uneven black color, a standard that likely applies no matter what color they're making.
not to be a douche but i'm was pretty aware of your points when i posted that.

or am i missing something?

Yep, it aught to be a pretty damn good cooler no matter how you slice it. Once Noctua got involved it was game over for the other AIBs and their cheesey fans.
Unless MSI hires be quiet! to help them design their next cooler. Then its going to be all out WAR!

No, I'm just saying that things are nuanced and have multiple sides at the same time. It can be both branding and the current best performing option simultaneously (the latter largely being determined by what is developed first, after all). As would be the case with literally any other color if that was their chosen brand profile.
