Gigabyte Z690 AORUS Master & Elite Motherboards Listed for Sale

The Gigabyte Z690 AORUS MASTER and Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE AX motherboards have recently been listed for sale at an Australian retailer. The LGA1700 motherboards will support Intel's upcoming Alder Lake 12th Generation Core series processors which are expected to launch in November. The motherboards were listed for 768.90 AUD and 438.90 AUD which equates to 572 USD and 327 USD respectively. These prices are approximately 10% more than their equivalent Z590 versions which should provide a good indication of general pricing for all upcoming Z690 motherboards.

The listings state that the Gigabyte Z690 AORUS MASTER will feature DDR4 memory compatibility which may be a mistake as manufacturers have announced that some high-end boards will be offered with DDR5 support. The motherboards will likely be some of the first consumer boards to support PCIe 5.0 which will enable faster storage with supported drives. These motherboards should be available to purchase in the coming months when Intel officially launches their 12th Gen Core series processors and Z690 chipset.

Considering the Z590 Aorus Master is retailing for around US$400, this seems like quite a step premium. Sure hardware costs more in 'straya, but it's an indication that motherboards will cost more, yet again.

That price includes tax, and geographical tax, but yea, prices will go up - Intel boards always cost more, plus they'll add to the price for having PCIE Gen5 and DDR5.

The Z590 equivalent is still "only" AU$499.

Hey, I'm fairly sure the pricing comes from Australian retailer Umart but as the original source did not confirm and the items are no longer listed on the website I cannot be sure.

I checked the prices for the Z590 AORUS MASTER and Z590 AORUS ELITE AX from Umart when not on sale and arrived at 699 AUD and 399 AUD which gave me the 10% figure.

It looks fake to me, because the description includes 1200 that suggests LGA 1200, and Alder Lake will be on the LGA 1700 socket.

So much for those "great prices" on Alder Lake when the motherboards still make the package less value for money than AMD. Backwards progress.

Maybe true for budget Z690 boards, if we still can use the term “budget”, but for MB’s like Aorus master my first guess is DDR5. Anyway we will soon find out.

I would guess that model should get DDR5 support as well, but...
There's a shortage of a lot of things and the board makers changed their plans for DDR5, as a lot more SKUs were supposed to get DDR5 initially, but plans changed due to the current situation in the world. Other parts had to be changed around as well and some SKUs were cancelled/postponed.
