Intel has recently been promoting their upcoming Arc Alchemist (DG2) gaming graphics cards that are set to launch early next year possibly at CES 2022. We have recently seen a slide allegedly from Intel which states that the company will only be releasing products to compete in the upper mid-range segment and below. The slide details two DGPU GPUs where the SOC1 would have a TDP of 175 W - 225 W spawning SKUs to compete with the RTX 3070, 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, and 6600 XT while a cheaper SOC2 would have a TDP of 75 W and compete with the RTX 1650 Super. The SOC1 GPU would target the 300 to 499 USD price segment while the SOC2 would focus on the budget 100 - 200 USD market which AMD and NVIDIA have effectively abandoned with their latest architectures.

Would not be surprised that all intel gpu are reserved for miners and scalpers. Sh1tnel wouldn't do that to us, right?

Instead of minors & bald scalpers?

Well if they can make a viable budget GPU, they will be onto a winner as AMD and Nvidia only want big bucks now

Rather see a Discreet PowerVR/Imagination Technologies GPU

Smart move , probably the best timing too ? A chaotic market can be quite forgiving, but the time to adapt and improve will be limited, once things go back to norm they’ll either be doing well , or they’ll be forced out of competition

I think the success here comes down to price and support. If those two are OK, Intel's cards will pick up traction. We have to remember there is a demand and there is definitely a place for another player.

Idk if I should feel sad or happy about that , part of me wishes they could pull it off this time , competition is always better for the consumers , speaking of competition if I am being realistic it Is so obvious how far behind they are , like where are they gonna sit ? Mid range is the most competitive, entry level seems like their most favorable spot , but you have amd pushing hard on APUs with amazing graphic performance... I don’t think pricing will be enough, performance will be more important

I remember few years back AMD was behind with the first Ryzen release even though it has its perks. Now, Intel is releasing a GPU and they need to start from something. I think it is a very good move and Intel will catch-up. It is the first release and I think it is nothing like the Larrabee. For starters, Larrabee was a combination, a hybrid of a GPU and a CPU. This is strictly a GPU.
