Gold? No doubt the color accuracy on my monitor has degraded in the decade since I bought it, but that looks bright orange to me. Copper, maybe?

Reminds me of the old Metallic Orange NZXT cases they had back in the early 2010s (had one of those as a semi-custom prebuilt from an young iBuypower), as well as some of the other early "Brushed Aluminum and Colored" cases from the likes of Superflower? (PowerFlower? Some OEM that made many of those cheap brushed aluminum cases with different badging), which also had Metallic Orange and Metallic Purple as some of the weirder color options.

I was just about to say the same thing, prob cause of low-quality rendering, but if it truly is a color-accurate gold, I wish they would make a 900 series model in the same color, which I could set beside my black & red one, just for kicks.....hehehe

I'm reasonably sure those are actual product photos - they're a bit too natural-looking for renders (a render would likely look more geometrically perfect and less realistic in terms of surface finishes etc.). Still, it could just be a paint that doesn't come off well in photos, or poor lighting, or poor editing, or anything really.

I was thinking the same thing while looking at the pictures like this:

Also, has the construction of the case improved since the initial release? I've read somewhere that the GPU is too close to the side panel for any air to move towards it, resulting in (potentially) overheating.

That second pic sure doesn't make it look like there is a lot of breathing room there. 2-3cm at most, but likely less.

Hm, perhaps color naming might be down to there being a certain ... let's say stigma attached to the color orange growing over the past four-and-a-half years or so? And a parallel culture of emphatic denial of the existence of any orange color as well?

To be fair, I've got nothing against the colour orange. I've always thought the orange Focus ST looks cool. I also like the orange accents on my ASUS Tuf Gaming motherboard - or do they call it gold as well?

I quite like the color orange myself as well, I was just thinking aloud regarding certain political connotations it might have gained, at least in the US (and overall English-speaking world, I guess?), and how this might motivate some to claim that no, this is not orange, it is in fact a perfectly normal and high end gold.

It would have a lot more political connotation in Hungary, where the leading (and quite dictatorial) party's colour is orange.
