The M32U will be Gigabyte's fifth gaming monitor and the second not to carry the Aorus brand. Design wise it looks identical to the M32Q and the specs are very similar too, as both monitors rely on a super speed IP panel that measures 31.5-inches. The big difference here is obviously the resolution, as the M32U sports a 4K 3840x2160 panel and this time it seems like the backlight has improved slightly, as we're looking at an HDR400 certification, even though both models deliver a typical brightness of 350cd/m².

On the other hand, colour saturation isn't quite as good at 90% DCI-P3 or 123% sRGB, even though this is an 8-bit + FRC panel rather than an 8-bit panel for the M32Q. The refresh rate is up to 144 Hz for PCs and 120 Hz for consoles, with a 1 ms MPRT response time. Inputs consist of two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC and a USB-C port with DP-Alt mode. The display also has one USB 3.0 type-B input and three type-A outputs and a headphone jack and as with previous Gigabyte displays, this one supports KVM functionality. Finally we have a pair of built in 3 W speakers. No word on pricing or availability.

It's been available in Japan for around 1000$.
Overpriced a it's the case with most high end monitors, OLEDs destroy them for a similar price.

It seems like this gen of 32" 4k is using an older panel -- hopefully they refresh it soon and drop the price.

A 32" 4k oled would be interesting as well tho.

And not at the refresh rate.
Well there's 27", 144 Hz miniLED but I guess that one will be "not at that price".

I wonder what will they pull off with that "IPS Black".

Back to the OG topic - this is the same panel as the one used for FI32U, it's going to be cheaper than that and it will have a "better" stand (one you can easily ditch for a VESA mount and not cry over RGB loss) and possibly better tuned overdrive mode (maybe they will learn something from FI32U).
It's also available for preorder at Newegg for $799 with... no refunds and no returns.

I would guess this uses the same panel as the FI32U. Also, what's the point of this variant? The specs are identical except for the Aorus having a mic jack, one less USB port, 20W less "AC input max" (is that the PSU's rating, or peak consumption? no idea.), a pivoting stand (but with less swivel angle), and a bundled USB-C cable. I guess this is going to be a cheaper model (it's not branded Aorus), but wouldn't that just completely undercut the already underwhelming FI32U? If it's cheap - say $600 - that would be great, but if not, this seems like an entirely pointless product.

Gigabyte don't sell all their products in all markets, so I guess it's about being able to offer something where the Aorus models aren't sold?

That would make sense. Kind of weird still (why not just do a straight up rebrand and save the R&D costs?), but I guess those aren't much to speak of when all the core components are (most likely) identical.

That is what I'm waiting for. The LG 48 inch oled tv is not bad but is not proper, issue here is that if a 32 inch oled monitor is a lot more expensive than that LG 48 oled tv then will be a fail.

OLED TV's are wrgb, those oled monitors are true rgb panels. High refresh variants are still in development. Don't expect standard prices for long time.

As for M vs FI, in case of Q variant this is 30% of difference for nearly identical performance:

I hate my gigabyte monitors software/firmware updating system, but the monitor itself is really, really solid (and incredibly cheap, for a 1440p 32" 165Hz)

I had to check after seeing this "and as with previous Gigabyte displays, this one supports KVM functionality." my poor Q32C does not support KVM

A lot of their previous models do. I guess they don't do it below a certain price point.

$1,159AUD that seems quite cheap. I'd like to see one.

Yeah, I guess we'll just have to wait for panel manufacturers to get tired of making money selling us $2,000 monitors they can make for $300 and start selling us $2000 OLEDs that cost them $900 to make

I have a 55 LG OLED and it absolutely kicks ass as a gaming monitor and TV (seriously amazing) but not so good for just about anything else on a PC. Hard to explain but text just looks bad.

And the long wait for the perfect 32" monitor continues.

Im planning to downsize to a 27" from my 32. I want 240hz instead of real estate.
