GELID Announces BlackFrore CPU Cooler

Tech innovator GELID Solutions unveils the latest high-performance CPU Cooler for AMD and Intel CPU. The BlackFrore is a product of GELID Solutions GAMER product line. The BlackFrore comes with the advanced heatsink that carries 2 power heat pipes and features the Heatpipe Direct Contact (HDC) Technology to provide perfect thermal contact and facilitate heat transfer between CPU and the heat pipes. Additionally, the BlackFrore introduces the High-Class Black Electrophoretic Coating to guarantee top-grade surface finishing of the heatsink, create an exceptional look and feel and improve durability.

An improved 92 mm fan with the Smart PWM (Pulse Width Module) Control and airflow-optimized impeller compliments the heatsink. The newly designed impeller provides efficient airflow distribution over the heatsink and the intelligent PWM Curve technique constantly keeps the fans silent but accelerates speed whenever additional cooling is needed. The high-performance GC-Pro thermal compound and the all-in-one mounting kit for multiple AMD CPU sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, AM4, FM1, FM2 and for Intel CPU LGA 775, 1366, 011, 1155, 1156, 1150, 1151, 1200 sockets are all included too.



The cooler is RoHS and WEEE conform and carries a 3 year warranty.

This “technology “ can sometimes be a curse , I’ve seen many big brands fail to have it apply even pressure....
Otherwise looks like a nice little cooler hope they got it right I like Gelid

I was about to say that this thing better be cheap - turns out they were right there with me. That is some excellent pricing, even if this looks like a very basic cooler. I also like its mounting clips, which orient it the correct way (blowing towards the back of the case) with vertically oriented AM4 sockets.

Yeah, you can even see some small gaps around the heatpipes towards the right side of the cold plate shot. Getting perfect contact with direct-touch heatpipes is a challenge, but at this price range it's likely by far the best solution.

I've actually had pretty good luck with Gelid's Slim Silence coolers. At this price point, I'll pick one up and check it out. Especially when they're advertising a "Silent" 92mm fan. If it isn't...I have a nice stash of my favorite 92mm fans(BeQuiet! PureWings 2 ) that will do the trick.

Although...the Cryorig M9a is my usual go-to "cheap" cooler. The only problem with that is...lately, it's been hard to find them cheap! Glad I stocked up on that last sale.

Despite going through them at a pretty fast clip, I still have two left, neither of them are Intel compatible though. Way too expensive for the M9i....

Wonder how this compares to the Hyper TX3 Evo in my NAS. Likely worse, given one less heatpipe ... and that the TX3 Evo is ducted directly to a 140mm exhaust fan

Still got a Tranquillo spinning downstairs.

Its flawless as it has been for 8 years now. No fan replacement, yet still sounds and runs like day one.

You can safely trust Gelid to make budget product and do it right. This puts a LOT of similar coolers to shame. 14 euro is REALLY cheap.

Yes, the size of this thing leaves some questions. I suppose its a tower for smaller cases but then you'd rather have something top flow instead...

Yes, the size of this thing leaves some questions. I suppose its a tower for smaller cases but then you'd rather have something top flow instead...

The TX3 Evo is also a 92mm tower, so they're similar there - but I've removed the fan from mine and ducted it to the exhaust fan instead. Cools the 1600X in the NAS very well at inaudible noise levels (the HDDs are another story).

I see one drawback on AMD as well: neither of the clips are adjustable (unlike for example Cooler Master's clip mounts, which have adjustment screws on the hooks that clip on), meaning either this has poor mounting pressure or it's going to require a lot of force to install. That can make it pretty difficult, and can exert a lot of stress on the motherboard.

Also, it's rather ... interesting that the motherboard in the line drawings in their manual has a water cooled VRM setup

Not 65w TDP with 10secs of 250w peak and 125w long term turbo,
but 65w from the CPU Maximum average per 3secs.
Terrible hot spots for AMD CPU's with multi-die.

It actually depends on the size of the pipes not just the numbers of pipes used

But yeah .... it’s a tiny affordable cooler anyway
