AMD Announces Radeon RX 6600 Graphics Card

AMD today launched the AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card, designed to provide visually stunning, high-refresh rate 1080p gaming experiences to the midrange market. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card leverages breakthrough AMD RDNA 2 architecture, the only gaming architecture that spans from desktop PCs, laptops and consoles to mobile devices and automotive infotainment systems. Offering 32 MB of high-performance AMD Infinity Cache, 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, AMD Smart Access Memory technology and support for the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system, the AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card is designed to bring next-generation desktop-level experiences to PC gamers. It also supports the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution open-source spatial upscaling solution, which is designed to increase framerates in select titles while delivering high-resolution gaming experiences.

• AMD FidelityFX technology - AMD FidelityFX technology is an open-source toolkit of visual enhancement effects for game developers available at AMD GPUOpen. The new AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) spatial upscaling technology, supported on more than 100 AMD processors and AMD GPUs, as well as on select competitor GPUs, offers an average 2X faster performance across select titles in "Performance" mode at 1080p compared to native resolution. Just saw email from retailer here, Asrock Challenger model is available for around $420 while Sapphire pulse is listed for obscene $730. What a joke Sapphire has turned out to be.

With a 128bit memory interface, that card should sell for $250 max. Even that price is a little bit inflated.

Another case of cool product, terrible price. The low end market is completely fucked, neither AMD nor Nvidia seem interested in the slightest in filling that void

I'm still waiting for a current gen alternative to the lowest end cards, maybe a 6300 whenever AMD decides to launch it or even a 6100 if that ever comes to exist (I want something low end for passthrough). Maybe Intel will fill the void? Someone has to, right? ...right?

As long as whales and crypto miners keep buying those overpriced cards there will be no available mid or low end - don't expect the supply side to start expanding at least until Q4 2022...
