Ubisoft opened today a new video game development studio in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Richard Tsao, senior producer at Ubisoft's Shanghai studio, has been appointed managing director of the new studio. Ubisoft Chengdu will initially focus on internal outsourcing and in time will be responsible for developing online titles for PC, consoles and handhelds. The new Ubi studio will open its doors in Tianfu Software Park with 10 team members and the goal of expanding to 200 developers over the next year.
The success of our studio in Shanghai, which has been further confirmed with the launch of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the PLAYSTATION 3 system, has encouraged us to extend our growth in China,
said Christine Burgess-Quémard, executive director, Worldwide Studios at Ubisoft.

How do you know what he meant about it being a bad thing that its in China?

The company in question is not based in Asia, so maybe Wareagle is concerned for the jobs of those people in the west being gradually outsourced to China to save cash? That would seem a valid concern to me...

My suggestion, edit your post before you cop an infraction :p.

First of all,I wanna apologize for what I said including some indecent words. In actual fact,I'm not hostile to anybody,we should respect each other,I know that.I met so many occidentals in my life, there is no conflict between us.You wanna know why so many enterprises choose China to expand their future. The reason is simple:intelligent and diligent workers and lower pay.We can assume jobs that you think that's a miserable life. When you tan on the beach, enjoy your party, doodle time away,we study or work, life is like an Olympic Game.No pain no gain. You can't stand it anymore but I can.So the last,I'll win.Liking"freedom is not free".The principle of the nature is simple,"who is stronger who lives".When I used my electronic dictionary in front of my teacher, they're surprising that China has these things, designed and made in China. You never lead a life style like Chinese does, you never understand what we can create.People of the whole nation are like this,so we're advancing every day.Teach you a Chinese proverb:"Anxiety makes you alive, comfort let you die."
Auf wiedersehen!:ohwell:

Damm...............................what a ancient Chinese proverb.........

WarEagleAU is correct in saying "Bad news, its in China" ......what is happening is Apple/ Intel/ Mattel and so many other companies are moving their production facilities there because of the lower operating cost.
This in turn puts many americans out of work as a result. I share the same concern he does.

But does this really make a better life for those in China? Making their minimum wages? But China is also a leader when it comes to pirated movies, music, software, goods etc.

Giovanni...before cutting loose, remember that China has a poor history concerning human rights....make this your priority rather than bitting of someones head because they are concerned for job loss to China.

By the way what do you mean by quoting that proverb? No one here is comfortable about loosing a job market in the states. Your quote concerns me about your intentions.

Well, comfort can be a bad thing. We need some stress to do things right. Physical comfort that's it. That's why it's not good for most humans to be unemployed for an extended period of time.

And not everyone lives in the US, you know.. Like everyone in China.
