Minisforum have recently published a press release teasing an upcoming mini PC based on the AMD B550 platform and configurable with up to a Ryzen 9 5900X in addition to lower-tier processors such as the 5600X, 5700G, and 5600G. The PC will also feature a dedicated graphics card however the specific model was not named by the company with the only provided details being a power budget for the entire device between 120 W to 1000 W and dimensions of 16.65 cm x 15.8 cm x 6.7 cm. The company has also published images of the device showing the rear connectivity which includes 2.5 GbE Ethernet, x4 USB 3.0 Type-A, x2 USB Type-C, x2 HDMI, x1 DisplayPort, and separate headphone/microphone jacks. The device will ship with a 120 W gallium nitride charger and use liquid metal for cooling. The complete press release can be found below.

Minisforum said:
Mini PC manufacturer MinisForum recently announced that they will launch a new mini PC that is based on AMD B550 chipset soon. According to MinisForum, this mini PC will support the latest Ryzen 5000 series APU including 5600G and 5700G and Ryzen CPU like 5600X and 5900X. Since 5600X and 5900X don't support graphics output, this mini PC will be equipped with a dedicated graphics card. But MinisForum hasn't release much information about how they put a dedicated graphics card on this mini PC yet.

What is clear is that this mini PC will use gallium nitride adapter for charging. The package will include a 120w gallium nitride adapter. In addition, the mini PC will also support ATX(SFX) power supply 12V only. With AMD B550 chipset, this mini PC will support PCIe 4.0 SSD. This mini PC will also use liquid metal for cooling, just like their previous products HX90 and HM90. The whole system will consume roughly from 120W to 1000W.

HAHAHAHAHA.... Beware when Minisforum says they'll use LM.

They'll get it all over everything else but not where it should be... between the CPU and the heatsink

Who knows. I think it was mentioned somewhere in the video that a German OC'er by the name of der8auer (a fairly popular German LN2 overclocker) also had a sample sent from minisforum for review that suffered from the same issue - LM all over everything instead of where it should have been.

I think GN had a follow up video where Minisforum responded to them but i dont think their response really said much of anything. I'll have to see if i can find the video.

In any case, just be dubious when Minisforum say they'll use LM.

::EDIT::

Minisforum response is here:

starts at 5:38 if the video isnt time stamped

Id also recommend watching that entire segment. It would make you 3x even more dubious about Minisforum :laugh:
Steve on the other hand just keeps roasting and dunking on them.

Like steve and unlike Der8auer you dont know to do follow up on story with production units where LM issue was fixed.

A 5900X in that mini chassis? I will certainly stay clear because I don't think the thermals will be great even if they use LM to transfer the heat to the heatsink. Even if they limit it to 65W, it will still run very toasty at load, if not it will throttle quite a lot. On paper it sounds great, but I will be interested to see how they execute this combination in that NUC chassis.

They do the same as in most laptops, on paper the performance is there but you can't use it, but then again if you wanted to have the full performance of the 5900x you'd shop elsewhere, at least a bit bigger so it could fit some radiators. They don't do miracles

Its a shame the USB 3 ports on this are only gen one. If it was gen 3 or 3.1 then you could of ran a box for an external GPU.
