Logitech Announces G413 Mechanical Gaming Keyboards

Apparently they actually have a few decent ones…Me, I just can’t let go of my G19s for the LCD screen I use for my monitoring via AIDA64. I just try to remain utterly ignorant about mechanicals…

I still have one of those laying around, but since I got the G910 the keys almost feel like mechanical but softer. My only problem with this g910 is the RGB (#sayNO2RGB) LEDs, several have lost 1 color. IDK if I bought a keyboard with just white lighted keys, I might have stuck with that over the years.

The official press release says $80 for the full size and $70 for the tenkeyless model. Really easy to recommend as a first mechanical keyboard unless it comes out with any big issues.

Same here. That is why i have stuck with G910 that has recessed keys and no light bleed. I just wish Logitech would finally move to PBT keycaps. Laser engraving wears off after a few years under heavy use. Mostly gaming.

Yep the Romer-G (Omron) switches are softer than standard Cherry. And yes G910 has problem with LED's dying over the years. My first (Spark version) developed this problem after a few years. Last November i bought a new one (Spectrum version this time). Let's see how long this lasts. Also the white is rather bluish on G910. It's not pure white. As for why i got G910 again - most mech keybpoards these days are using the floating key design that i hate. And those that do not lack features i require.

When I put a ticket in, they just sent me a new one. The only thing wrong with both is the LEDs.

BTW, my rock is only a 1BR. If there were mechanical keyboards, before they went with these romer-gs, they're trying to hide.

I have one of the OG G413s. Its solid well made keyboard and I really dig the minimalistic design and clean looks. Mines holding up well from daily use for quite a while now so no complaints about quality.

I'm glad to see they make a TKL version now and they are uping the quality. I'd gladly get another one in TKL form if it had a detachable cable but I didn't see that called out as feature. A wireless version would be a nice option too but something to allow me to switch from work to personal systems is kinda a must.

Looks nice enough, will there be ISO options or it will be like their K845 (which this is pretty much a clone of) with only US ANSI layout?

I love it, it's much easier to clean.

If you're looking for unicomp you might want to take a look at https://www.keyboardco.com/ (their reseller in the uk) though with brexit it might not help much.

White keys can get discolored as well, I bought a keyboard on black friday with white backlight and 3 of the keys are yellow-ish. Not enough for me to care but disapointing with how new the keyboard is

My G Pros had this problem with LEDs dying just within 2-3 months. It started with 1 or 2 key, and spread quickly like a plague to other keys. I said G Pros because Logitech replaced my keyboard 3x during 2 years of warranty period. The last one just before warranty expired also developed the same problem, and I decided that I had enough with Logitech keyboard, or even RGB keyboard at all.

Fun fact: only the blue LEDs died, blue only.

Switched to Blackwidow Lite Stormtrooper Ed. 1 year ago, with pure white LED, no LED has died ever since. I don't miss the RGB, Pure white LED looks so good and clean.

It's not that mechanical keyboards have become any better, it's that membrane keyboards are becoming worse.
As a result of the race-to-the-bottom for membrane keyboards, the difference between mechanical and membrane is getting larger.

If you have a decent-quality, older membrane keyboard then yeah, there's no real reason to upgrade.

If you have a decent-quality, older membrane keyboard then yeah, there's no real reason to upgrade.

It's on Logitech site (i've only found the us one) - 79$ pre order for full size, 69$ (nice ) for TKL. If you're looking for full size, you might want to take a look at the Logitech K845 which is cheaper (for non-cherry versions) at 59$ with logi red/blue/brown - 79$ for cherry red/blue.

Have you actually owned one? Honestly, typing on a mechanical keyboard vs a basic membrane one is like gaming with an RTX 3080 instead of a GT 710.

I know there's a million keyboards out there, but you have to jump through hoops to buy most of them. At least Logitech products are mostly available through major retailers.

Gamer-fication of the mechanical keyboard market is indeed a "sad but true" thing. I got into mechanicals back in 2007 with the purchase of a Das. I'd still have it if I hadn't wanted to move to a TKL.

These days mechanical keyboards are all about the ARGBLED, childish styling and stupid fonts on the keycaps, ridiculous (and often janky or intrusive) software to control it all, coupled with obscene pricing for what is usually plasticky non-premium build quality and material finishes.

For $100 I want a steel baseplate, an alloy or at least a durable abs top deck that isn't covered in nasty, short-lived soft-touch paint, N-key rollover, and a standard layout. That shouldn't be too much to ask for but it so often is.
