Why should i buy a picture for 196$ ?

Even if you pay that price You are not buying the picture
You are just buying a token ( = a receipt ) of the picture
The token itself is meaningless if the host does not legally honoring the right to use the picture to the token owner

My experience with Biostar being limited to a motherboard or two back in the early aughts that I rather liked, I'd be interested in a more detailed summary of your assessment. :)

Why what's so bad about them otherwise? My only experience is a mini itx am1 board I used as a media system in my basement. Had a pretty nice uefi with sparkling stars in the background and worked well enough.
Well let's see..... And remember, the both of you did ask.

Bought one brand new (TA990FXE) that crapped itself within 3 months of it being new, ran as a daily machine.
Did the RMA thing and received another that lasted for a little longer, maybe an extra month or two. In both cases it was a defective stick of RAM that made them puke - This same stick was also tested in my Asus boards and it was like "It's just a bad stick of RAM - Waddaya want, an aspirin or something" and worked as always afterwards with no ill-effects or need to go without a board.

If all it takes is a bad/defective stick of RAM to outright slay a Biostar that other boards would indicate it's bad and then deal with it, that doesn't speak well to Biostar quality AT ALL.

And if all it needs are sparkling stars in the background to be good my Z77 OCF should be stellar but it's not, has it's own fair-share of problems like all the rest.
I know nothing is perfect but there is an expectation of quality, a certain threshhold or level to be reached and Biostar in my own personal experience slipped, fell and slid on it's face while running on concrete.

If you're lucky, you'll get your money's worth but will certainly get what you paid for in the end - I did when I decided to give 'em a try.
Never again.

And with all that I'm almost willing to say Biostar with these NFT's is just looking for another way to maintain revenue.
And I hope for those buying these NFT's aren't on the same level of quality as their boards.

not gonna be surprised to see people start stealing it and listing it at a lower price and gets the money while Biostar struggling to make ends meet. That said, this is all the more reasons to not buy their products.

The end game is about giving players the opportunity to resell their items once they’re finished with them or they’re finished playing the game itself.

So, it’s really, for them. It’s really beneficial. But they don’t get it for now.
Yes, so let's not pay them until after having completed the entire game o_O

this stuff is taking off!
Yes, it's vanishing into thin air ~ like magic :pimp:

NFT is bullshit bingo,
1) buy ETH etc.
2) buy overrated/priced pixel content
3) hope the pixel will rank up in te price (if not u lose many of ure money cause very high fees)
4) hope the crypo currency dont drop
5) exchange back to ETH
6) cashout real money with a lot of fees

Better a real money marketplace:
make a bank transfer
buy it
sell it
cashout

I rather pay an actual artist to draw me some furry girls that costs way less than that dumpster troll tokens and still have the ownership to the artwork than just a digital receipt that says "you own this".

I lately saw a great explanation of what NFTs are:

-You marry a very expensive supermodel,
-everyone else sleeps with her as they please,
-but you're the one with a marriage certificate!

Just cut out the middle man, buy ETH while it's in the gutter, sell when it's not. Or do the same with stocks, precious metals, whatever floats your boat. It is, however, a great and cheap way for corporations to monetize a fad, so that's exactly what they will be doing for some time.

For all their stupidity, not going to happen. NFTs establish originality via blockchain. Kind of the point.

*Generic negative feedback here.*
I sincerely hope there's enough of us, and that we can stay loud enough, to prevent NFTs from being forced into and onto the world.
I like non-gov cryptocurrency; money was already made imaginary, and used the world round for the most despicable of evils as well as the most amazing success stories.
IMO NFTs, especially as posited, are poised to ruin the very thing they exist for: Ownership

Kinda hard for me to wrap my head around. Not all that long ago in my life, the concept of digitized and equally 'owned' real goods in 'the virtual space' would've sounded amazing. I'm a little more attached to the real world now, though.

What is quite troubling with that seemingly accurate analogy, is living in an era where Simping and Swapping are surprisingly common and 'accepted'. Meaning, there should be plenty of people all aboard for NFTs...

NFTS can have multiple units. They'd generally be serialized in that instance.

As much as I don't see the value in NFTs, I do not really get the hatred of them either. Sure they are dumb, and probably a stupid waste of money... but I view most expensive art purchases the same way (and yes, you can get reprints cheaper in the art world too).

I don't understand it. I'll even go so far as to say it's dumb IMO. But the level of hatred here seems somewhat over the top.

NFTs aren't mined, so they didn't steal your gpu... so why?

It just solidifies the idea that money is the only thing we care about nowadays. The NFT is such a blatant, shameless scam, its such a total waste of time, energy and intelligence altogether that it just should not exist. But somehow in a twisted crypto reality of speculative goods the NFT is actually marketable because the human species has devolved so far into stupid already.

That's it. NFTs represent a level of idiocy ingrained in our species and proven by the blockchain so its a non-fungible fact even. And the fact all those companies fall in line just underlines we're all sheep in the very same way. Economy leads, humanity follows like a Lemming. Right off the cliff. 'Look, they're all going that way, surely that's the right way!'

And note, there is a younger generation now that knows no better than this. This is reality. Digital goods that represent value, whatever value means in a digital world. Good luck, next generations. The new drug is just 'buying' these days. Pissing away hundreds of bucks a month on skins and cosmetics was already becoming the norm there, remember. Now they even became non fungible! OMG. That's better, isn't it?!

I don't either, I heard about this NFT thing from my bro a few months ago and I was confused as hell.

Its called being disconnected from reality for too long, realizing it because everytime you go outside, it 'feels unsafe' and then you dive back into your comfort zone and never get out of it again. Why do you think we're cultivating snowflake society lately? Its what people legitimately want because 'it feels better'. For two years, people have been living online.

And then, you find all sorts of similar people online and social media does the rest. Its the same thing as a Trump or Bolsonaro just straight up ignoring the very systems they want to control, to win. Its a complete disconnect and enough of a cult following 'will make it so'. After all, democracy eh.

You don't need to be right, you just need enough people to think you are. Consider the fact that younger people may have well enjoyed a lower quality education, too. As the divide between poor and rich widens, so too does the access to education. So we breed stupid and stupid topples sane and informed.

And there is another element, too. Fear Uncertainty Doubt. Algorithms play into that too, I reckon a lot of the 'noise' we hear is just overinflated and you hear the same 5% every time, while 95% thinks its nonsense. But we're humans and susceptible to peer pressure. If we think its better to join the crowd to survive, we just might, no matter how crazy the idea.

I hate to bring up the analogy, but a good 75 years ago, people in Germany were following a similar road to World War 2. Facts were irrelevant: just believe there is a common enemy and you can change the world. Remember. 'Wir haben es nicht gewusst'. Lessons are learned and... forgotten.

Honestly it's no different than the art world that already existed. Just less tangible. Art is basically "cool paint splatter bro, can I invest?" at it's core.

Sir, your post should be mandatory stuff for reading. Best explanation of modern society I have read in long time.

Congrats!

As we know from the internet and economies of scale though, some things are fine within a niche, but absolute terror if they turn mainstream and are becoming the norm. Its the normalization that creates the deeper rabbit hole. Its an economical principle too: (p)reference drift. It serves an economical model of expansion; not the people in it.
