damn shame, bought 32gb of e-die ddr4 clocked at 3000mhz and overclocked that thing to 3800mhz - great value for the money and overclocks beautifully, sad to hear this news

KLEVV is from Hong Kongnese Essencore.
Team has obviously been around quite a while, hardly an up and comer.
OLOy I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
I wouldn't either, but they're gaining some prominence for some reason. And Team is indeed more established, but I was mostly commenting on their increased presence in Western markets (or, specifically, the Nordic markets that I have some impression of and experience with).
Lots of odd brands here like Orca, Leven, v-color, anacomda (yes), AGI, Utwin and even Pioneer these days.

Apacer is apparently back in the DRAM business and somehow Geil is still in business. Lexar, the brand Micron sold to some PRC company is also doing RAM now.
Pretty much to my point: there's a glut of brands trying to get in on the "hot" gaming RAM market these days, which typically precedes the majority of those comanies giving up as they realize that margins are super slim and marketing and distribution is expensive and difficult, making the volume needed for profits difficult to attain. No doubt there's a bit more room to move if you're "local" to China/East Asia and only target those markets, but that also sets a pretty hard cap on your target markets and of course leaves you out of some very high ASP and margin ones.
Your last point makes sense, as I'm sure it's the kind of thing Micron would do if they could earn more money on it than selling their own sticks of light up RAM.
Yeah, it would definitely make sense - though I wouldn't put it past the likes of HP to multi-source everything either (though that would increase their design costs).

This explains why I am unable to find a white kit of Crucial Ballistix memory for my Gigabyte Z590 Vision G, Thank you Micron I guess I have to go somewhere else to find ram now and no not Kingston.

There's your problem, Nanya chips.
I have their 3600MHz modules with Hynix-CJR and they both run at higher clocks and tighter timings, plus I'm using four sticks.
The big problem with all the fancy heatsinked memory modules is that you are buying the pig in the bag, as you often can't tell what DRAM chips you get. When memory makers then have multiple revisions of the same modules, without letting their customers know, you can end up with all kinds of random stuff.
Did you try contacting Patriot? Their support is actually quite good. I bought one of their NVMe SSDs and the thermal pad didn't touch the controller, so it was overheating to the extent it made my system crash, even though it wasn't the OS drive. They swapped it out, no questions asked.
Got several mates that have bought higher-end Viper Steel modules than mine and everyone's happy with their RAM.
Everything over 4000MHz should be Samsung B-dies.
I thought Klevv was consumer brand of SK Hynix ala Crucial was to Micron.

When it comes to memory, i take corsair all the time. Never had any failures in god knows how many builds. I would not say the same thing about their old aio's though....

Essencore is owned by SK, but not sure it's SK-Hynix, since SK is a huge company.

Corsair are OK, but in my experience you won't get much overclocking headroom over and above their stated speed on the box, no matter which sticks you choose from their line-up.

What size/speed?

32GB (2x16GB) 3200/3600Mhz.

These kits are on the QVL list:
3200Mhz 16-18-18-36

3600Mhz 16-18-18-36

G.Skill is too expensive here and the Kingston ram is not worth their price and I am done arguing with Gigabyte about RAM support to JEDEC specifications because they only support ram on their QVL list everything else doesn't matter that's what their support told me.

It's a shame, but IMO the ballistx have been ugly things since they dumped the tracer DDR2 design.

I think the DDR4 line of the Ballistx series is fine looking both with and without RGB nothing too stylish but works.

A bit on the expensive side same price for me at Proshop when they have them in stock.

So based on their PR nonsense update it looks like they're dropping the DDR4 Ballistix line because they now have basic black sticks of DDR5 available (CL40 4800 MT/s, whoopty doo).

Well, if they focus on expanding their memory portfolio by cutting their catalog in half, it will be really interesting to watch them scale back.

That said, while I enjoy my Crucial SSDs, they've always been a supplier for others first.

Very sad, as I’m super happy with their 16GB Ballistix RGB 3600, super stable without WHEAs (or with max 1-2 errors every 2-3 hours of gaming, zero crashes or weird errors otherwise) 3866 15-18-13-35-59 1T, and with tuned subtimings (I don’t like RGB, but it was either the reds RGB as I bought or some crappy LPX 3200 at the same price when I upgraded my rig). Heck, can even boot at 4266 1:1, but not more as I’d have a gazillion of WHEAs in a second XD.

Corsair already has their higher-end DDR5 modules under the Dominator name and lower-end under the Vengeance line. So to some extent I can understand streamlining that. The catch is it will be even more of a grab bag on overclocking because they're just filling them with whatever will hit spec to get them out the door for the mainstream market. The premium for the Dominator line doesn't necessarily mean it will even overclock over spec (some will, some won't). So it seems like something that in the long-run isn't going to go over well with consumers coming over from Ballistix that expect those price premiums to come with a little oc headroom. It is a great opportunity for another company to swoop in and grab a chunk of the enthusiast memory market.

Got two of their DDR4 3200 modules in my NAS. They used to be in my PC.
I'm old enough to have bought an ATI video card from crucial way back when. My first SSD was from them as well and over the years I've owned countless RAM kits and SSDs from them. They were never Samsung in performance but they are player in the value-brand segment. That said I had more issues with their RAM than other OEMs.

Exactly. Far cheaper than gskill, fits under any hs and they just work. 3600 blacks are all I use for am4 builds(and alot of intel if I can get them).
Dropping the ballistix name is a huge mistake. Brand recognition is everything in the memory market and they are giving their biggest up, cuz we want erthang ta be crucial? Just stupid.

Ha! I had completely forgotten about the fact that they used to sell graphics cards.
One of my fastest and most reliable, but also ugliest USB drives was from Crucial.

That's very unexpected. Ballistix brand was still doing well, kits are selling at decent prices and have good reviews. Just bought a DDR4 kit for my workstation, less than a month ago.
I think with all the shortages and stuff they are simply planning to offload memory ICs to OEMs rather than build sticks on their own.
