Deathloop Wins Game of the Year From NAVGTR

NAVGTR CORP. - The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit media organization of 1,200 media voters and 13,200 subscribers, has announced winners for its 21st annual awards program honoring video game design and programming. Leading all winning games is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (7), followed by Psychonauts 2 with 5 awards. Deathloop, Metroid Dread, and Resident Evil 4 VR each won 3 awards. Far Cry 6, Halo Infinite, It Takes Two, Life is Strange: True Colors, Little Nightmares II, Resident Evil Village, Returnal, Tales of Arise, and The Medium each won 2 awards. Additional winners include Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Artful Escape.

Deathloop earned highest honors as Game of the Year. It Takes Two, Returnal, The Medium, and Deathloop were the only original intellectual properties to win multiple awards. Sébastien Mitton won the most awards (3) as an individual. Voters were polled and asked to identify the most interesting races. The writing awards were deemed the most interesting races. Psychonauts 2 won the award for Writing in a Comedy over The Artful Escape, The Good Life, It Takes Two, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Life is Strange: True Colors won the award for Writing in a Drama over Before Your Eyes, Far Cry 6, Little Nightmares II, and Twelve Minutes.

Deathloop is the most overrated game ever, finished the game in 30h and only had maybe like 5h of fun.

I feel you. I did not have fun with the witcher 3, despite it's many awards. However, i do believe that game reviewers as a whole get things right most of the times, its just that some games are not for me, and that's it. Cheers

No idea about the gameplay it's but definitely up there in the "worst GPU requirements-to-visuals" department.

it's a good game with interesting mechanics and well, although did find it so-so, the story was interesting enough ... (in solo mode ... the invasion online mode is boring as hell ... not a good idea to grant a player to play the "baddie" in the game if he will be wiped in a matter of seconds, even the IA driven one put more of a challenge than that ...)

although not a GOTY material ... none of them in that list are ... as a matter of fact no game since TW3 would hold that title for me ... although i had fun with recent games ... including CP2077 and some other

my idea of a GOTY need to be either, original enough to not fall to a genre or excelling in all department and make me sink hours and hours in it, aside TW3 and CP2077 (on a lesser extent, since the side quest contents were clearly the highlight of that game for me) , the all time winners for me were TES III IV and V thanks to the modders geniuses who made them as they are and i still play Morrowind and Oblivion even tho Skyrim is the one i have the most hours in it, out of all games i ever played ... for solo games ofc, Fallout series also are good contestants ...

and most indies games i played recently are more close to GOTY material than any of that list ...

i had alot of fun with deathloop

it inclu a solid story, original gameplay and a unique multiplayer mode

for me it was the game of the year since alot of game were reported and cyberpunk was a launch failure

Deep Rock Galactic is technically an indie game but it's fresh, innovative, truly 100% co-op focused and extremely polished/bug-free. I'd vote that GOTY over most AAA titles any day of the week.
