What a great youtube channel! I really like the retro Voodoo inspired cards. He must put a lot of labor into these replicas.
Agreed. Dude usually only makes 1 video per year ... but ALL OF THEM are great, and i recommend them to all.

As for the topic, nVidia should focus on cutting down the gap between RT on and off instead of focusing on more FPS: for that matter, so should AMD and their RT version. Not that more FPS isn't a good thing: it's just that the gap is really that severe.

No hidden surprises? I see I need to install a certificate, and the program uses a silent updater, not sure how I feel about that. :)

Linus did a video about DLSS Swapper, that was how I knew about it, so I think they verified that it's safe to use :D

Those rumours and early results are always about stupid scenarios, oh yes its twice as fast - at 8K with RTX on and DLSS (2FPS to 4FPS)

This is also going to be something stupid like a 600W capable power connector, not that the GPU's use it

I have huge doubt about air cooler dissipating 500W of heat at any sane volume, even the massive AIB 3090 models like the MSI SuprimX and Gigabyte Xtreme have a hard time cooling 420-480W. So yeah the 4090 might top out at 450W and Nvidia holding the 4090Ti trump card with >500W TDP until they know how RDNA3 would perform.

If the 4080 can offer 50% higher FPS over the 3090 and use 320W, it would already be overkill for 4K + RT DLSS gaming.

Also, lower SKUs arent all that efficient at all, the 104 also got its share of TDP bumps
Isnt efficiency measured by performance / watt? Just because it got a tdp bump doesnt mean it has lower efficiency, right? My 3090 is way more efficienct than my 1080ti for example

Who remembers when Nvidia said they were going to make video cards have more graphic power while using less real power. That was the pitch 5 years ago. And their roadmap showed it less and less power hungry video card with more output for graphic power. Strange how that all went to the trash can.
No it didnt. A 3090 at 250w gets more work done than a 1080ti at 250w. I think you are confusing efficiency with power consumption. A gpu can consume 10.000 watts and still be efficient

Electricity is cheap and plentiful here on the Eastern side of the US. I pay well under 10c per kW/h. My usage is significantly higher than other homes in mu development and I've never heard a peep from the supplier or line provider.
And chances are as long as you keep paying the bill you won't hear from them. What did you think your lines/power company gives a damn about how much power you're using at home pfffft nope they couldn't give two shits it's all money to them until what you're doing causes problems for your neighbours

Everytime an article is posted on this website mentioning "board power" the entire community mistakes it for stock power draw.

That 600W can be from a single 12pin connector.

Just wondering how hot that connector can get with the maximum draw.
