Transcend, a leading brand of digital storage and multimedia products, released a 1 TB JetDrive Lite 330 expansion card which is exclusively designed for MacBook Pro 2021. Its tiny design and high capacity expands the storage space of the MacBook Pro in a snap, increasing users' efficiency by backing up digital files.

The latest MacBook Pro models released in 2021 are equipped with an SD card slot, fulfilling the wishes of consumers out there. Transcend's JetDrive Lite 330 expansion card seamlessly integrates with the MacBook, offering consumers another affordable option to expand their Mac internal storage capacity. Built with high-quality NAND flash, the JetDrive Lite 330 delivers impeccable R/W speeds of up to 95/75 MB/s. Multiple capacities from 128 GB to 1 TB are available for consumers to choose from based on their needs, ideal for Time Machine backups and iTunes libraries. More space can be saved from the internal drive to allow 3D rendering, graphic design, or software development.

Manufactured using COB (chip-on-board) technology, the JetDrive Lite 330 is resistant to water, dust, and shock, providing extra protection for data stored inside. A free download software tool, RecoveRx, is provided to help users bring deleted files back. Other than the MacBook Pro 2021, the JetDrive Lite 330 also supports the MacBook Pro (Retina ) 13" (Late 2012 ~ Early 2015). Transcend provides other JetDrive Lite expansions cards to support different MacBook models. The whole series has undergone rigorous reliability and compatibility tests, covered by a five-year limited warranty.

So Is this really designed to fit ONLY MB's ?

Perhaps my eyes are failing me again.... but at first glance, this looks like an ordinary SD card, but when looking closer, it appears to be oriented sideways instead of the usual length-wise, with the connectors at the end of the short edge, but this one seems to have been designed the other way, with the connectors on the long edge...

Also why bother calling it a "Jet Drive" or "expansion card" if it is essentially just another SDXC card ? "Jet drive" makes me think External Drive, and "expansion card" makes me think PCIe card.... gotta luv those over-caffeinated, vape-puffin marketing guys.....just sayin :D

$250 for a 1tb SD card is pretty normal though im not sure why you would want one for this application when you could get a usb-c drive for the same price with higher capacity and speed.

A solution to a problem that shouldn't exist, but caused by Apple charging $400 for the upgrade to a 1TB drive.

That's more than double the cost of the best and most expensive 1TB NVMe drives on the market, and you're only getting 750GB for your $400 from Apple, not a full Terabyte.

The Macbook Pro's card slot is shallow, so regular cards stick out of the slot.

This is half-length so that it sits flush with the side of your Macbook and can be permanently left in place. The final image covers it pretty well, in case you missed it:
