Since when are facts disinformation? You not shutting up only goes to show your pedantic of this brand.

Lol, Hue's are terribly overpriced. You can buy alternatives for much cheaper. God TPU has gotten so dumb.
I agree with the OP you replied to - Razer does indeed make good quality products - they're not what they used to be a few years ago where their product quality was not the greatest. Now it's really high quality. I have both a keyboard and mouse from Razer, and they work really well. Additionally, you saying things like this are not fact, they are subjective and an opinion. I don't understand why you find it necessary to be rude to other forum members for having an opinion that differentiates from yours.

Actually there's more to it. Difference from Chinese and Japanese Omrons, Huano switches do it as well. Though it's an optical mouse, the Viper. In theory it shouldn't do it as much as mechanical switches... but I've seen some that do it.

Razer have improved, but there are better brands.
No, there isn't. Not unless you want to spend an obscene amount of money for a keyboard and mouse - and brands like Corsair for example make keyboards that are worse than Razer's and a lot more expensive.
Razer can do as they please, I just don't support them after having a $80 mouse fail right after the warranty ended. Cheap internal components that broke. Had the mouse wheel fail - wouldn't spin or click anymore and constant double clicks on the left mouse button, constant tracking issues, constant problems with the Synapse software. Bleh, is about all I have to say for their products, be it hardware or software. The wheel failure happened 2 days after warranty. I emailed Razer and they said there was nothing they could do since the mouse was out of warranty.....2 days over warranty and even with all the other customer service emails I sent them about issues with the mouse and their software they didn't care.

I've been using a G502 from Logitech for about 5 years now, zero problems.
I've been using a $20, 5-button mouse from Microsoft for15+ years now and it still works like the day I bought it. The mouse has been with me through 3 different jobs and it get's used a lot since most of my work is on a computer.

First impressions are big for a lot of people. My first impression of Razer is that their products suck, lots of headaches and overpriced considering how long they lasted and how crappy my experience was with them.

To those that like Razer, that's fine, you can like them, but you can't convince me or others that dislike them just because you say so or you had a good experience with them.
Razer from 5 years ago was vastly different from the Razer that exists today - their products have gotten a lot better since then, and you can't really hold your ground if you haven't used a Razer product since then as your impression is vastly out of date. And my last mouse was the G502 - way too big for no reason, and Logitech's software is literally the W O R S T.

I'll just quote myself since you seem to have missed it:

First impressions are big for a lot of people. My first impression of Razer is that their products suck, lots of headaches and overpriced considering how long they lasted and how crappy my experience was with them.

To those that like Razer, that's fine, you can like them, but you can't convince me or others that dislike them just because you say so or you had a good experience with them.

Same goes for Apple and Turtle Beach..... Horseshit products that failed on me right after the warranty on the products expired. Right after the warranty is within days - I'm not talking about how I used the products for years on end and things finally failed, literally within days.

There are many other companies out there that provide similar products that I haven't had issues with and I'll stick with them. You do you, I'll do me. I'm glad you enjoy Razer's stuff, but I don't. I am justified in my position, you don't get to decide that for me or anyone else.

Yea I know, I think it should be a requirement. I wonder how long Razer will stay private.
The article says "not long" which I interpret as less than a year.

Since their goal is to increase market valuation, staying private does not accomplish this expediently.

This can also be seen as a get-out-of-Dodge move by Razer to get out of China (Hong Kong is China now replete with anti-capitalism and anti-democracy measures) and into the US.

That can not happen. The SEC has no such authority.

That said, I think going private will be an excellent move for Razer.
It probably would be for a lot of companies. Just look at netflix, missed earnings and shares dropped like a rock.

Wallstreet/shareholders are a finicky group.

Mainstream products will always have problems due to the sheer number they need to produce, the failure rate of razer products is probably pretty low.
I'm a great believer in opensource firmware not because it's opensource but purely because it offers more features and 9 times out of 10 manufacturers firmware is based of said opensource stuff. look at 90% of routers on the market today, do they compile their own firmware from the ground up? Hell no they butcher OpenWRT and put their own branding on it and disable features depending on how little you pay. If you want the best features razer has to offer it's probably the same find an opensource alternative to their firmware.

Razer I think is pretty obviously trying to get out of Dodge with this move, almost every world renowned Chinese product is being accused of espionage. Any accusation be it fact or fiction can damage a public company getting ahead of that seems a smart move to me.

All consumer products suck, fact. Be glad there are over 20 companies competing over which mouse you have in your hand instead of one bad company with garbage products.

Imagine if your only choice of gaming mouse was an old 400dpi ball mouse (this was literally the ONLY choice back in the day), people today are spoiled with variety and LOVE to jump on bandwagons however insane their driver may be.

That nonsense has no merit to reflect upon Razer as a company. You are offering little more than personal conjecture about product line partnerships and pricing that has no bearing on the quality of products offered by Razer as a whole.

Put another way, your point isn't one. Show information that has merit and supports your opinion with actual evidence or the mods will be asked to help you out with your toxic nonsense.

Razer always somehow sucks. Their early Deathadders were plagued with early failures, I had one. Also had a Blackwidow with non-clicking keys. I had one of their headphones with a tiny cable that broke, too. It was one of their higher end headphones. Now they've gotten better but when I can buy a honeycomb mouse for an extremely tiny fraction of a Razer product (see Ajazz or any other decent honeycomb design), why should I bother?

Razer fans don't understand any better, which is your problem.

Since you're being nothing more than somebody who doesn't accept anything being told, I don't know why I even bother. Hard facts about overpriced products are trolling to you, since you have such solid thoughts about this brand. I should give it up.

You've presented no evidence, only personal opinion. Lot's of people have bad experiences with products they buy, it's to be expected, but all you're doing is bad-mouthing a company as a whole for your experiences and you have no evidence to show that the problem is wide-spread. IF you were to complain of Gigabyte, microsoft or Newegg, no one would question you because the problems those companies have are common knowledge. Razer has never had such problems. So your bemoaning has no merit.

Now IF you had stated that you don't like the company because of your bad experiences, that would be understandable. But that is not what you've been saying.
I don't know why I even bother.
The element Osmium comes to mind...
Hard facts about overpriced products are trolling to you
Those were NOT hard facts, they are subjective OPINION. You showed a product and made a purely subjective comparison, then made a claim about price without providing any supporting evidence and then presented your comparitive claim against Razer, again without any supporting evidence.
I should give it up.
Yes, you really should.

This statement proves you are arguing ego, not merit.

Well, you insist on not understanding how you can get superior products (say keyboards) for much cheaper with some Asian brands. Or the fact that Synapse is trash. Or the other reasons, so yeah, I'm giving up.

Can you two take it to private message so we can get back on topic? There's been zero discussion in this thread about the benefits of going private and 99% ego whoring from people apparently with deep connections to some of these companies, or those who got bitten by the mouse/keyboard switch issues.

(To be fair, Logitech has the same problems, with using chinese ormon "50M" cycle switches which are lucky to last 6 months before the contacts degrade, rather than the genuine Japanese switches. Even Honeywell unique switches would be an improvement. I know--I solder in my own mouse switches, and I have honeywell as well as Japanese D2F-01's).

And I'll never buy another razer product because Synapse is spyware. End of story. Even if they toned the "online/phone home" crap down from the early Deathadder Chroma days, I'm sorry, but we don't need our personal information getting stolen without our permission.
When you get a mouse that has BUILT IN INSTALLER FIRMWARE THAT INSTALLS AN INSTALLER TO WINDOWS AS SOON AS YOU PLUG IT IN, unless you block the files, that's too much for me to handle.

Hi,
Never used any raser products personally besides to shave

At one time I would of said redragon 901 mouse was the greatest thing since sliced bread but then they came out with the 901_2 which is frankly a POS compared to the original 901.

If some said no way blah... I sure wouldn't give a shit or make a big sticking rebut about it I like personal experiences of products.

I have no connection to Razer and no particular affinity for their products other than being of good quality(based on personal experience). What I do have a problem with is people spouting out maligned nonsense and being toxic without good cause.

Can you two take it to private message so we can get back on topic? There's been zero discussion in this thread about the benefits of going private and 99% ego whoring from people apparently with deep connections to some of these companies, or those who got bitten by the mouse/keyboard switch issues.

And I'll never buy another razer product because Synapse is spyware. End of story. Even if they toned the "online/phone home" crap down from the early Deathadder Chroma days, I'm sorry, but we don't need our personal information getting stolen without our permission.
When you get a mouse that has BUILT IN INSTALLER FIRMWARE THAT INSTALLS AN INSTALLER TO WINDOWS AS SOON AS YOU PLUG IT IN,
unless you block the files, that's too much for me to handle.

You had me until you started parroting the whole "Synapse is spyware" bs.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
I'm not a kid and I think Razer products are of good quality.
well i am glad some peoples have no issues with Razer ... but by personal experiences, aside a mouse bungee from them, i had literally 0 product from them that passed the first warranty year without at least 2 RMA and irremediably failed after warranty end

imho: overhyped and overpriced brand (i have also a lot of qualms about quality but i will not voice it further, to not delve into the impolite downright insulting side )

ah wait i have a Razer Tartarus V2 atm ... still going good, aside one Synapse f'up  (eh... i am a Belkin n52 nostalgic ... ) and i can't even redo any profile now or change them heheh ... (lucky that's a software fail ahah ... a first from Razer for me :D ) i am puzzled though, why that one is fine, maybe i can add it to the list of the only product from Razer i had and was impressed with ... namely a Boomslang and a Copperhead Lava (in short the first product from Razer, later one : "downhill soapy slope" for them ;) )

disclaimer: "i was hating Razer even before it was cool to do so" :D
