May 12, 2022, was a big day for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) -- DEATHLOOP was the first game to be updated with FSR 2.0, and we were thrilled to see the incredible response to the next generation of our open-source upscaling technology. Now we are extremely excited to tell you that two more games have been updated to add support for FSR 2.0, Farming Simulator 22 by GIANTS Software and God of War by Santa Monica Studio and PlayStation Studios.

FSR 2.0 is the next-level AMD temporal upscaling technology designed to deliver similar or better than native image quality and boost framerates in supported games across a wide range of products and platforms. Along with the two new FSR 2.0 game updates above, five more games have now joined the list of upcoming FSR 2.0 titles - Abyss World, Hitman 3, Rescue Party: Live!, Super People, and The Callisto Protocol. In addition, more games have been updated to support FSR 1.0.

God of War FSR 2.0 Performance

The latest update to God of War is now available and updates the already available support for FSR 1.0 in the game to FSR 2.0. The next-level "2.0" temporal upscaling technology provides better image quality across all FSR quality modes and resolutions while still substantially boosting performance.

4K God of War with FSR 2.0 on the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT Graphics Card

On the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT graphics card, AMD's ultimate graphics card for gaming, gamers can experience up to 1.5x higher framerates at 4K at "Ultra" graphics quality when compared to native resolution (FSR "Off") when using AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 in "Performance" mode

On the Radeon RX 6750 XT GPU, FSR 2.0 also boosts performance by up to 1.5x in 4K "Ultra" when compared to native resolution (FSR "Off"), to up to more than 60 FPS in FSR 2.0 "Performance" mode.

Farming Simulator 22 FSR 2.0 Performance

Farming Simulator 22 lets you create your farm and let the good times grow and the latest update to the game adds FSR 2.0 to the already included FSR 1.0. With the addition of AMD's latest upscaling technology, you can significantly boost your framerates in the game while still being able to harvest crops, tend to animals, manage productions, and take on seasonal challenges in 4K at maximum fidelity at the highest graphics settings.

When using the AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT graphics card, FSR 2.0 in "Performance" mode can improve framerates by up to 1.4x over 4K native (FSR "Off") with the "Very High" graphics preset.

FSR 2.0 helps boost your performance by up to 1.4x above 4K native (FSR "Off") with "Performance" mode enabled -- that is up to 115 FPS even with the game's graphics set to "Very High".

More Upcoming FSR 2.0 Games and Developers

Along with the God of War and Farming Simulator 22 being updated with FSR 2.0 technology, the list of upcoming FSR 2.0 games has now grown to 16 games with the addition of Abyss World, Hitman 3, Rescue Party: Live!, Super People, and The Callisto Protocol, bringing the number of FSR 2.0 games to 19 in total.

The upcoming FSR 2.0 games are Abyss World, Asterigos, Delysium, EVE Online, Forspoken, Grounded, Hitman 3, Microsoft Flight Simulator, NiShuiHan, Overprime, Perfect World Remake, Rescue Party: Live!, Super People, Swordsman Remake, The Callisto Protocol, and Unknown 9: Awakening.

The number of developers supporting FSR 2.0 has also grown with these new additions to 19 and now includes ACME Game Studio, Arkane Lyon, Asobo Studio, CCP Games, GIANTS Software, IO Interactive, Luminous Productions, Luoxigu Network, Obsidian Entertainment, Perfect World Games (developer of Perfect World and Swordsman), Reflection/Bandai Namco, Respawn Entertainment, rct.ai, Santa Monica Studio, Souleve/Netmarble F&C, Striking Distance Studios, Tag Studio, Thunder Fire, and Wonder People.

Additional New FSR 1.0 Games

Even though FSR 2.0 is now available in select games, and we expect more developers to integrate our latest upscaling technology into their games, because of the nature of game development timelines you can still expect to see some new games comes out with or get updated with FSR 1.0.

With that in mind, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 is now available in Arma Reforger, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Dolmen, Hitman 3, iRacing, Project Xandata, Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition, Sniper Elite 5, The Elder Scrolls Online, and V Rising - and the first generation of AMD upscaling technology is still capable of boosting framerates at near-native resolution quality using a cutting-edge spatial upscaling algorithm and will help deliver high-quality, high-resolution experiences in all these games.

great, more is better, but continue to work and improve on it AMD, the last Digital Foundry vid comparing FSR 2.0 vs DLSS and Native and TAA in GoW showed that DLSS is still in many ways just better.

Yeah, GOW show the disocclusion artifact in really nasty way, probably due to third person and the fast animation, I can tolerate every other artifact of FSR 2.0 to a degree, but disocclusion is really jarring.

The problem I have with FSR: the initial release games were impressive, but once devs got ahold of code (with expected restricted dev time, plus the inability of code jokey o avoid the temptation to needlessly tweak) , the end results have been terrible!

FSR 2 doesnt even have that many clean game releases out the starting gate!

I think the path to FSR 2.0s success will lie in coexistence with DLSS for the forseable future, and continual improvement just as DLSS has been. Being open is a big win, but in its current form a killer it is not, especially as they're so easy to integrate alongside each other. Many other factors at play too of course, but yeah my 2c.
