Benchmark Scores https://valid.x86.fr/yfsd9w
It's a busy day when it comes to Intel Raptor Lake benchmark leaks and this time around, we're looking at a pair of Core i5-13600K CPUs, but in two different motherboards. The first CPU sits in an ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme board and is paired with 32 GB of DDR5 memory, whereas the second CPU is in an ASRock Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E board, this one also paired with 32 GB of RAM, but DDR4 rather than DDR5. Both systems are running Windows 10 and unlike the Core i9-13900K results that we saw a couple of weeks ago, these two results are both valid according to the Geekbench results browser.

Courtesy of @harukaze5719 we have a nice graph with the results below, even comparing them to the average Geekbench results for a Core i5-12600K, as well as a Ryzen 9 5950X and a Ryzen 5 5600X. The Core i5-13600K beats everything in the single threaded results and the ASUS system is not far behind the Ryzen 9 5950X in the multithreaded tests. The ASUS system is significantly faster than the ASRock one though, so it seems like Raptor Lake is really making the most out of DDR5 memory. As we don't know the memory clocks, it's hard to say if that is also a contributing factor here, but it's likely that the ASUS system uses much faster memory, as in some of the sub-tests like Rigid Body Physics, the two systems are on par in terms of performance. It'll be interesting to see how Intel prices these upcoming CPUs, especially considering that the company has already warned it'll raise its prices in time for the retail availability of Raptor Lake.

Honestly just looks like a clock bump and some more E cores tbh.

A something-5 part reaching a performance level of a something-9 part from the competitor, not to mention we're talking 20 threads vs 32 threads, where 8 threads work at measly ~4GHz.

Competition works wonders!
The i5's are simply incredible this generation. Those 8 cores at 4ghz are no joke.

Non-K CPUs need way more exposure, it's always K's being covered.

These Gracemont reloaded cores (more cache higher clocks)are not your grandfather's Atom cores... And Skymont and Darkmont are coming... If Intel can increase the IPC of the 'Little' cores, it can offer more multithreading performance per die area than a big core (4 Little cores in the same area as 1 Big core). Intel may be on to something... especially if Skymont and Darkmont increase IPC.

These are leaks of upcoming parts lol. We're not promised any information on any of the 13th gen parts until the official Intel release.

For the right price i5-13600K looks very good compared with what AMD has now, it makes me think if i should just go for it instead of upgrading my 3700x to 5800x / x3d.

Of course you should. I am sure you really have a 3700x and you really want to upgrade to 5800x witch of course it's not such a good deal as 13600k.

AMD probably won't match Intel on the ST front with zen4 but good chance they'll still have the MT crown.

It's nice having competition again.
And we have competition in both CPUs and GPUs.

4E core are taking +33% surface area than a single 1C2T ~ 3E, 1C2T ~ 1000 CPUz. 3E ~ 1200, so 20-30% better performance at what power, that would be interesting to know. are they that much more efficient. But just give me the 10C20T part instead.

Guess Intel is following AMD's strategy and increasing overall core-count to stay ahead of the game. Single-core perf uplift is slim.

They compared with the latest AMD processor. It doesn't matter when it was released, this is the last one.
yeah man, i mean what else they're supposed to be compared to lmaooo

3D is WAY overpriced for what it is. but, tell me, why you upgrade? because of SC or MC? if MC, then plain 5800X is already a good boost over 3700X. heck, you could go for 5900X + better cooler for the same price like all that hyped-out new Intels. IMO, new Intels are best with NEW DDR5 ram. Which is overpriced in good variants (we talk 5600 CL 36 or 6000 CL 38 and lower here). your platform isn't OLD enough to pay crazy $$$ for whole platform change, unless you are from that strange and crazy people who own mammoth-era X370 or X470 motherboards instead of more modern B450/B550 or X570 lol

AMD certainly will not match the ST performance and I’m not sure if they do on the MT as well. It’s not that easy anymore.
But I really believe that they’ll hold the gaming performance crown with a high clocked zen 4 3D.

Im mostly working on android apps but im keeping a virtual machine (ubuntu) open at the same time , photoshop time to time and stuff like this (and sometimes light gaming , like WOW, very CPU bound) . I am rendering videos for youtube but the project is paused at the moment and is not the reason for the upgrade. The 3700x does a decent job , i can not complain , but i can get an 5800x for like 200E (and maybe the x3d one for 250-280) new and the 3700x will lose most of its value soon and i was thinking to upgrade.(the system i want to upgrade has a b450 tomahawk max , not sure if it can keep up with 5800x as it should but i think is still OK, maybe i can go for 5700x even)
Edit: I dont tend to upgrade very often and thats why i was thinking at the i5, it seems that its better than the 5800x ST and MT, and the extra ST performance can make things snappier. (i have to see at what price first anyway)

I'm just waiting for all the hypocrites switching to Intel when it turns out to be better than Zen4, kinda not so sorry i went with ADL now.

Even the 13600 is looking pretty impressive, wonder what a 13700k can do.

Are you sure it won't be the other way around... all the hypos already counting zen4 out and it's not even out yet. Yall make it seem like amd is just sitting on its ass with zen 4. I've seen so many even dare to say zen 4 will be slower than zen 3. Where's all the logical folks. I love competition, but I'm not stupid enough to think amd(ead).

The mainstream zen 4 parts (below 400-500 euros msrp) dont stand a chance. Id be surprised if the R5 zen 4 even surpasses the 12600k in MT performance. The 13600k is completely out of the question, maybe the R7 will compete with it.

So lots of people not doing the same for Intel. At least there is a good idea what Intel has to offer.

I am not even sure if regular people need so much CPU performance tbh. , better GPUs yes but CPU i dont think they need more than what is currently on the market, thow i might be wrong. (for gaming at least)
