Antec Announces the DP503 Mid-Tower Case

With diagonal mesh front panel design, cool ARGB effects and a lot of internal space, Antec Inc. presents the DP503. The case is now commercially available from 110€ (suggested retail price including VAT). Despite the ARGB effects, the front panel offers an elegant gaming exterior.The diagonal mesh panel design ensures huge air intake for the best cooling performance. Ventilation grids on the top, at bottom and at the PSU chamber of the case accelerate the airflow. Magnetic and pull-out dust filters at the top and the bottom allow for easy cleaning and maintenance. The 4 mm non-drilled tempered glass side panel lets the user show off the build, while the interior of the chassis allows plenty of space for watercooling and case fans.

This new Antec tower measures 483 x 220 x 490 mm (DxWxH) and is compatible with E-ATX, ATX, micro-ATX and ITX motherboards. In terms of fan support, the case accommodates three 120 mm / three 140 mm or two 185 mm in the front, three 120 mm fans / two 140 mm fans on top as well as one 120 mm fan in the rear and two fans on the PSU shroud. Three 120 mm ARGB fans in the front are already included in this neat gaming case.



For extra water-cooling, the DP503 accommodates a 360 mm radiator in the front and on top and a 120 mm radiator in the rear. The case boasts two convertible tool-less 3.5" HDD drive cages (convertible to 2x 2,5" SSDs), two 2.5" SSD mounting spaces as well as seven expansion slots. Moreover, the chassis has plenty of space for graphics cards with a length of up to 375 mm and effective ventilation, making it particularly suitable for gamers as well. The mid-tower supports high-end air coolers with a maximum CPU Cooler Height of 170 mm and power supplies with a length of 205 mm.

The I / O panel features Power and LED control button, two USB 3.0, one Type C 3.2 and Mic and HD Audio jacks. With 23 mm clearance in the rear and a grove on the top as well as eight included rubber grommets, the DP503 offers sufficient options for cable management, allowing for a clean build and optimized airflow.

This case has an identity crisis; The entire case looks great - clean, straight lines, right-angles, absolutely perfect minimilast design language.

...until you get to the front fascia, which is a big, protroding, cheap-looking piece of ugly plastic that contradicts the rest of the case. Antec actually has a huge range of cases made from a small number of base chassis, bulking up the portfolio with different colours and plastic fascias. What they DON'T have, anywhere at all, is a refined, clean, minimalist, tidy, grown-up looking fascia to complement the chassis on display here.

All fronts plastics look inadequate to me,. so I take them off entirely and run frontless. Usually the 360 radiator serves as front, as long as there are no cats around to sharpen their nails on it. I guess they did't get the memo that nowdays PSU should mount behind the motherboard.

IMO, Antecy wouldn't know an original idea or design principle if it was shoved so far up their arses that they needed a chainsaw to remove it, hehehe

They are a #1 prime candidate (but not the only one) for my infamous "same-ole-same-same-lame-lame-boring-AF-rectangular-boxen-of-yesteryear" label....

which is a total shame because way back when, they ruled the PC gaming world with their three, six, nine hundred cases and true power PSU.

Darn if it were just a smidgen shorter length wise it would be the perfect replacement for my current cheap Chinese pos case. I love the angular looks and would look nice with my current set of components inside.

They are releasing the same case multiple times with different plastic fascias, yes.
I'm okay with that, but I wish the different fascias weren't all angular plastic RGBLED rubbish,

Given that the Antec of today is not the Antec of yore, that's sadly to be expected. Which is too bad, some of their BITD stuff was legit excellent.

And that in itself is a MB511 with a different front panel and small tweaks, which is also- you get the point, it's mostly just all the same but getting better over time supposedly, but not really.
