Gelid Solutions is excited to introduce the "The Ultimate Mining Fan" GALE and GALE EXTREME, designed to maximize cooling capabilities by combining modern technologies with exceptional hardware, the gale series looks to out compete all of its competitors. Both high performing fans contain a double ball bearing system along with an optimized impeller to improve reliability and airflow. Also, a pre-installed Fan Grill is added to avoid damaging the fan blades. Its impressive specifications are worthy for any miners that value efficiency to give it a try.

GALE: Comes with a max air flow of 110 (CFM) for cooling, fan max current 0.55 (A) with a fan connector of 4-pin PWM, max noise level 45 (dBA) also with a power draw of max. 7 (W), static pressure of 12 (mmH2O) and a Fan Speed of 500 - 3500 (RPM). GALE EXTREME: Comes with a max air flow of 195 (CFM) for maximum cooling, fan max current 2.8 (A) with a fan connector of 4 Pin PWM, max noise level 60 (dBA) also with a power draw of max. 33.6 (W), static pressure of 24 (mm H₂O) and a Fan Speed of 500 - 6000 (RPM).

"The GALE has been designed specifically for GPU mining, while the GALE Extreme is configured specifically for ASIC miners," said Gebhard Scherrer, Sales Director of GELID Solutions Ltd.

Pricing
  • GALE has a MSRP of 20 USD or 20 Euros
  • GALE EXTREME has a MSRP of 24 USD or 24 Euros

Put the 2.8A one on conventional FAN header and watch your fuses blow on the motherboard.

A little late to party.
Yep, day late dollar short Gelid. Had you released your Delta copies 1 or 2 years ago you probably would have made a small fortune. As is, you missed your mark gents.

These look like the old San Ace fans that were popular back in the day. I'd be interested in seeing a review of the Gale version.

Edit: I think Delta is the OEM for these not sure

They really do.

Thing is, these fans are somewhat of a laziness tax. 120x38MM fans are easy to find on eBay and in local marketplaces. They'll perform similarly to these, and while they might not have PWM control, you can usually just set them to 5V / 7V with a molex adapter and call it a day. Usually for less than 20/24 a pop.

If that's what they are hinting at, then these should really BLOW, hahahaha :)

Its funny how, what was once old is now new again. I certainly didn't think I'd ever see finger choppers being marketed again.

Could say the same about current power requirements for cpus and gpus. Lol
Maybe that's why.

I'll take a 6000rpm 120mm. Nothing wrong with options. Something has to compete with the 3000rpm fans from noctua

some nice quality fans, not for connecting directly to normal mobos, they look almost like the ones I allready have, but don´t rev that high. not the same brand

Oh, I hear ya. Options are always good!
I still have a box full of Sunon 80s and 92s as well as some other random screamers. No idea why I hang onto them. I completely understand wanting to have overhead for those suicide runs and such but I'm old now. The Beastie Boys and Slayer did a number on my hearing years ago (tinnitus is a bitch). So I have to salvage what little bit I have left!

The nice thing with these fans is that they have the almighty pwm sense wire. Some fans don't respond well to undervolting, be it too high rpm for the voltage (logarithmic vs linear curve), ticking noises from the motor not liking anything other than ~12v, and...I think that's about it.

PWM gives you a much larger rpm range to play with, and you can ramp them down to inaudible levels when silence is preferred. That's something the San Ace lacked, though they did respond really well to undervolting.

However, todays 120x25 fans have come a long way, and I have a hunch that your P12, A12x25, T30 or similar will offer a better balance of noise and output for most builds. These would be nice for benchmarking and keeping those deltas down.

Server 38mm fans have noisy motors, especially DBB variants. They are reliable and they move some serious air, but bearing noise and motor noise are distinctly heard even at low rpms. In one of my older rigs, I used a number of Delta AFB1212SHE fans. PWM went down to ~300rpm, but the motor and bearing noise was a distraction even then, not to mention anything higher. They're just best suited for scenarios where noise isn't an issue.

/rant lol
