I remember how ddr4 skyrocketed when AM4 was released. Hopefully that doesn't happen with DDR5.

I somewhat share that concern over DDR5 though I don't think it'll happen right off more like tailwind effect after Zen4/RL launch and like 4-8 months into launch supply will dry up quite a bit and the extreme gouging will begin. DDR4 will probably go thru some more price pains as well with EOL on the brink just as other DDR generation transitions have gone thru in the past.
