I very recently bought 3 1650 Supers for an average price of $130 each tax and shipping included. They are all EVGA dual fan models that run cool and quiet, have a single 6 Pin PCI-e connector, and from what benchmarks I can find wipe the floor with the A380. Not to mention it is a proven stable card with no issues. Other than novelty I cant see any reason to buy this.

It's a real shame that without BAR enabled the A380 is so much slower. For an older system like ine a RX 6400 would honestly be a better choice, and that is with the 3.0x4 limitation cutting performance on older systems!

Maybe in 6 months intel will have the drivers hammered into shape. I really want that 6GB 75w GPU goodness.

The 75w limit is allowing MSI to make a slot powered low profile version. In that market the 1650 isnt an option, only the 1650 and rx 6400, both of which only have 4GB VRAM.

Interesting, Intel, come on surprise me ... (going like that, your drivers must be ready? right? right? riiiiiiight? )

do it right, even tho the product is not, and by far, right at the moment, unless they lower the price by quite a bit.

i have a GT 730 Silent LP in dire need for a replacement, if you can't there is plenty of RX 6400 LP or Nvidia equivalent for the same price that perform slightly above the A380 without Rebar.

I was actually expecting worse, considering the $200 (VAT included) price tag of the first ARC 380s sold in China... At this price it's at least competitive against the similarly priced RX 6400 (with room for improvement, if Intel can deliver decent drivers soon enough) while featuring modern video decoding/encoding capabilities and running on a X8 PCIe connection, which is useful for people using relatively modern motherboards that support ReBAR but are limited to PCIe Gen 3 connectivity (like AMD's series 400 and Intel's series 400).

At the very least atleast they updated the UI. While non functional it atleast looks better than the previous ugly also non funtional Intel GPU CP.

There is also the outside option of the WX 5100. Older card but also 75W and has 8GB. Even overclocked it's not quite as fast but for certain workloads it could be better. Full x16 3.0 lanes too.

Wish I had the extra scratch.
I want one of these as a collector's artifact: "Intel's 2nd attempt at entering the graphics accelerator market"

I think it's the third attempt, if you count the unreleased Larrabee terminated in 2010, which is seriously a collector's artefact, and the 1998/1999 vintage i750/i752.

Good card, but AFAIK there is no low profile version, the LP was limited to the WX 4100 GPU.

If I was going to go down that road though I'd try to track down a A2000 6GB card.

Good point, but the i750 and now Alchemist both *actually* could be purchased. Larrabee never saw a retailer.
