Alienware Announces 24.5-Inch 1080p 360 Hz and 27-Inch 1440p 280 Hz Monitors

Think never, general trend seems to be moving toward OLED. Unless manufacturers and drive the cost of implementing FALD to that which is below the cost of switch to an equivalent dispay outright, FALD is obsolete, only holding out in large format because cost to of OLED panels there is still too high.

Samsung just launched 2 1000+ zone FALD monitors at 1300$ and 1500$ (the cheaper one was at 1100$ a couple weeks ago). Problem is samsung is still pushing their VA panels that a lot of people still hold prejudice about because VA tech got a really bad rep. and they insist on making them very curved.

OLED is great but for computer monitors it's impossible to ignore the burn in problems, QD-OLED is supposed to improve on that but it's still to early to see the results on it.

People hail the praises of OLED, but i would not buy one for a PC monitor. Too much static image showing for a PC unless you have your screen saver turn on after a few seconds or the same with standby timer.
