Possible launch SEP pricing of AMD's Ryzen 7000 series "Zen 4" desktop processors leaked to the web by Wccftech, which appear to be similar to those of the Ryzen 5000 "Zen 3" at launch. AMD will launch a slim set of four SKUs in its first round of these processors—the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X (16-core/32-thread), followed by the second-best Ryzen 9 7900X (12-core/24-thread), the Ryzen 7 7700X (8-core/16-thread), and the mid-range Ryzen 5 7600X (6-core/12-thread).

Apparently, the series debuts with the Ryzen 5 7600X at $299, or the same SEP of the Ryzen 5 5600X at launch. The Ryzen 7 7700X launches at $449. The Ryzen 9 7900X comes in at $549, and the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X at $799, which again, is identical to that of the 5950X. Besides processors, motherboard vendors are expected to launch their first Socket AM5 motherboards, debuting with the AMD X670E and X670 chipsets. There's talk of mid-range chipsets such as the B650 and B650E, but we haven't seen any confirmed products show up on motherboard vendors' websites, yet. Pre-launch pricing for the X670E and X670 put them at a significant premium over the current Socket AM4 flagship boards based on the X570. Besides processors and motherboards, we could see announcements from memory vendors launching their first DDR5 memory products to feature AMD EXPO technology.

Disappointing that the 7700X is supposed to be the same launch price the 5800X was.

Guess the 7800X will be even more expensive whenever that launches.

You name it and its gonna effect the price. Since the 13900k is rumored around the same price as the rumored price of the 7950X, I guess AMD thinks performance will be similar. Just my post will probably send Wall Street into a frenzy given how sensitive and paranoid they are. Add a few more bucks for the stock price fall.

Wait, so AMD is confident that their 7600x is going to be better than intel's core i5 ? and the 7700x seems to be madly expensive when the leaks suggest that it's still a bit slower than a 12700k. Unless it ends up being much better than the leaks, I don't see why AMD is going for such a premium pricing on this gen

I bet the people complaining about 450$ for 7700x, are the same people that bought 6900k at 1k and 6950x at 1.6k, just five and half years ago. :kookoo:

On topic: Good to see that, even with current price inflation, the prices are more or less the same than the old gen.

Well yeah, the 7800 will be the v-cache model and will be much faster in gaming and clocks will be close or same as 7700X

nah, I'm the kind of guy who bought stuff like a i5 4440, ryzen 1700x, and 3700x. all of em where sub 400 EURO (and hardware is expensive in France) . The reality of the situation is that unless Intel increase the price of alder lake by the time zen 4 is available, it's looking bad for them from a price/perf point of view if the leaks are accurate.

You're a boiled frog. Your 400 EURO then needs about 600 EURO today for the same buying power. Everyone going on about "inflation is 8.5%, omgz!" isn't seeing the big picture. Reality is closer to 20-25% here in the US over the past 3 years or so. I watch my bills, I have the receipts.

Anyways.

I fully expect Su to happily introduce the "secret" 7800X3D on launch day, if not just after Intel shows their hand.

Amd needs to get their sh*t together with this. 6 cores with some extra e-cores (like intel) would make the 6 core much more relevant and that would make the price somewhat better. This 299$ crap along with absurd motherboard pricing most likely means that AM5 will get very low sales, unless people are still influenced by marketing too much. Same reason why I couldn't see Intel succeed with Alder lake unless they made some changes, which luckily comes a little with Raptor lake, but with higher costs most likely as the downside.

Same price as Zen3. Too expensive? Zen 3 on the used market should be affordable. Better yet.. if AMD is too expensive then buy an Intel :toast:
Don’t buy a 6 core if you need more..

Higher? Same price as 5000 series which was a tad higher than a 3000 series but the performance increase was huge between the two and in my eyes was justified.

I was expecting higher prices, but apparently they had huge margins with Zen3, so basically they were overpriced, even with all the problems AMD should be able to make lots of profit.

A tad? The cheapest zen 3 was 50% more expensive than the equivalent zen 2. (r5 3600 to r5 5600x)

The performance difference between the two was 17% as per the tpu review

And why are we comparing a non-x to an x version of the CPU? There is a 5600 non-x too and its price is low. It is exactly $200 which is what the price of a non-x 3600 was (MSRP).
Relative performance between 3600x vs 5600 non-x In that comparison, 5600 non-x is cheaper mind you.

The argument mostly from intel fanboys is the 5600 launched much later which I semi agree with and that the 5600X launched at near and sometimes exceeded the 3700X in pricing. They also ignore that intel only had 10 series to compete with it and rocket lake came later and was pretty abysmal other than the low end parts.

I personally tend to agree with both sides though the 5600 came later than it should have and the 5600X really should have been 250 ish max.
