Club 3D is launching two new adapters today which have been the most requested items by game enthusiasts over the past 2 years. Game Consoles are setting new standards with every new generation. One of the most important ones of the latest consoles is the Ultra High Speed HDMI output, that most of them have. This delivers high bandwidth, which allows resolutions up to 4K120Hz. Displays used on the other side of the setup may have DisplayPort or USB Type-C inputs, which requires signal conversion. The new adapters offer this and are the perfect solution for users who have the latest game consoles and DisplayPort 1.4 capable displays—native or via DisplayPort Alternate Mode.

Here are the products:
  • CAC-1335 HDMI + Micro-USB to DisplayPort 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz M/F Active Adapter
  • CAC-1336 HDMI + Micro-USB to USB Type-C 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz M/F Active Adapter
Club 3D HDMI + Micro-USB to DisplayPort 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz M/F Active Adapter
The Club 3D CAC-1335 is the perfect solution to connect to any DisplayPort 8K30Hz or 4K120Hz ready displays from a HDMI source which does support these resolutions/specifications.

If you have a PC or any other device that lacks the new DisplayPort 8K30Hz or 4K120Hz specifications, the Club3D CAC-1335 will be the simple way to connect your HDMI source device to your new 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz display (provided your source supports these resolutions).

The Adapter is powered thru a Micro USB port (5 V/1.5 A). An USB Type-A to Micro USB M/M 1 m / 3.28 ft is supplied in the box.

Club 3D HDMI + Micro-USB o USB Type-C 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz M/F Active Adapter
The Club 3D CAC-1336 is the perfect solution to connect to any USB Type-C 8K30Hz or 4K120Hz ready displays from a HDMI source which does support these resolutions/specifications.

If you have a PC or any other device that lacks the new USB Type-C 8K30Hz or 4K120Hz specifications, the Club3D CAC-1336 will be the simple way to connect your HDMI source device to your new USB Type-C 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz display (provided your source supports these resolutions).

The Adapter is powered thru a Micro USB port (5 V/1.5 A). An USB Type-A to Micro USB M/M 1 m / 3.28 ft is supplied in the box.

Please use one of our Club 3D certified Extension/Adapter cables to connect to your devices. For optimal usages of this adapter we highly recommend you to use the CAC-1576 or CAC-1571.

That USB-C adapter looks really handy for using desktop GPUs with portable USB-C displays. AFAIK the few similar solutions that exist currently are very bulky, expensive, and have flaky support for various resolutions and refresh rates. Neat!

So this is for people with HDMI 2.1 outputs from their GPUs or laptops that need to connect to monitors with displayport 1.4?

At least for desktop GPUs, I think it would be a lot more useful if this was the other way around, since those tend to have 2 or 3 displayport outputs and one HDMI.

Can they do that as would you not be by passing the HDCP bullshit, DP been ahead years now and i bet the only reason HDMI has got near as good is because that's whats being pushed.

HDMI only lasted so long due to the HDCP or else it would of been replaced by DP.

still a bit pricey, but at least it's more readily available than the alternatives.

They don't need to pass it. HDCP 2.2 can be implemented from Displayport 1.3 forward.
Of course the sink / monitor needs to support it as well, otherwise no image will be shown from content that uses the encryption (mostly streaming boxes and blu-ray readers).

Regardless, for videogames and general PC usage you don't really need HDCP.

Wonder if this adapter could handle the Valve Index....... I have a problem since months with my laptop only having a HDMI slot and USB-C that is "DP certified" but doesn't work with any kind of USB-C to DP adapters.... Yeah dual graphics too, which I forgot to mention.... and probably the USB-C Port is not wired directly to the dedicated one...

Back when I had a RTX 2080 I bought the CAC-1085 from Club3D which was spec'd very similar to this adapter. They claimed it would allow you to go from Displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 with 4K 120hz. I remember hooking it up to my C9 OLED and sometimes only half the screen would show while the other half was a mass of scrambled pixels. I constantly had to pull the USB power cord out of the adapter then plug it back in to fix the problem and get full screen to work. Using Alt+Tab often caused signal loss and black screen while using the adapter. Again, the only fix was to power cycle it. Same thing happened if you changed from 8-bit colour to 10-bit colour in the Nvidia control panel - complete blackout if you altered the settings then power cycle the adapter to fix it. Then there was Club3D's godawful method of updating the adapter's firmware... *shudders*

I would not trust this new adapter as far as I could throw it. I also notice that Club3D still is not supporting VRR or G-sync Compatible with this new adapter either. What a steaming pile of dren. Good thing I don't need it anymore since i'm using RTX 3080 which has a native HDMI 2.1 socket

I'll happily take micro USB for power. I have a ton of old cell phone chargers and micro USB cables that I no longer use because everything switched to USB-C for charging (even though it offers no benefits for these low power devices). Would be nice to reuse them and not have to buy even more cables.

Same here. I have tons of old micro-USB left around from old phones and other devices, and consoles like my NES/SNES Mini & Genesis Mini.

I miss those as well. Looks like that they exited the GPU market after the Radeon R9 series.
